Most people are pretty neutral about my tea drinking. However I have had one or two people in the past few years say word for word "looseleaf tea, are you some kind of TeaSnob?"!

Bai Hao right now. Sounds like "How now brown cow?" ;)

Great tea as always it seems. Moved onto Chiran Supreme from O-Cha, opened up a tightly sealed tin that I had in cold storage. Yutaka Midori is incredible leaf!

Had T o T Alishan, this one is in the TCR tasting and is quite nice.

One more Happy B Day to DTK. 8)

Trying to gulp down some Rooibos this afternoon. RoT bagged stuff that is actually pretty good compared to the loose Rooibos I've tried in the past. This doesn't have that cough syrup taste to it and is similar to an Orange Spice tea, with cinnamon, orange and lemon flavorings. Maybe it'll knock out this chest cold I picked up...

Most of my family and friends are coffee drinkers and do not pay much attention to it. My wife is starting to take notice as my collection is getting larger by the week.
Today started with finishing a session of '03 MengHai "BuLang Jing Pin" and then starting the afternoon with some '97 Menghai "Huang Yin".

I'm a '3', I'm sure people wonder if the tea I drink is any better than bagged ... little do they know ...

This morning I had some Nilgiri Thiashola at home and here at work, some Adagio Raspberry Lime Rickey Blend, iced in my bottle.

Happy B-Day DotK!

treazure, you made me laugh. After the horrible week I've had, I needed it very badly.

Drinking the last of the Hatsumi this afternoon. It is really excellent. I've been drinking a lot of black teas lately, due to the influx of samples, and black is really not my favorite, so I've been feeling deprived. But yesterday I had some decent (not great, but decent) pu, and today the green. Maybe soon I'll start feeling normal again. *sigh*

The photo efforts are plugging right along. After the fiasco with tching this week, I questioned whether or not I wanted to keep posting my pics, especially after they went to such great lengths to make me feel like a villain for standing up for my ownership rights. But ultimately, I remembered that it's none of my friends here who were stealing from me, and I really enjoy sharing with you all, so scr*w 'em.

Geek, that first pic is so wonderful - I mean, both are good, but that one just makes me catch my breath. Lovely.

I totally agree about the Hatsumi - magnificent green tea

Wow, I love the composition of this picture it's so balanced and, therefore, so appropriate for a tea photo. Thanks!

Beautiful pot, Geek. Poppets are wonderful as usual!

Time to stray off the tea path and make myself a chocolate milk.

Most people around my area are not tea drinkers, and so they think I'm a teasnob for buying even the smallest tea accessory, let along drink the stuff. Good times.

I'm not drinking any tea right now, but the last cup I had was some White Cucumber. Quite yummy!
I believe drinking tea makes me a better artist. But hey, I also believe I'm completely sane.

My friends and peers don't really balk so much at the prices I spend on the tea fancy, but more over the perceived value of tea. They would think nothing of spending hundreds of dollars per pound of white truffle or Kobe beef, but still think tea comes in bags or in gallon jugs. Needless to say, I catch some good natured flak for it at the office.

Today was multiple pots of Makaibari Estate SF. Another strong performer from one of my favorite estates. The profile was crisp with quite a bit of fruity overtones. I detected plum, blackberry, and the muscatel grape standard in good second flushes.

Also, in the interest of mob rules, Happy Birthday DotK! :)

Definitely a 4 for me, though more times than not, those individuals who think I go a bit overboard are happy to have me make tea for them. Then again, I've always been the slightly eccentric one in my family.
