I think it was the 7542 and the 0622 samples that I didnt like. I have to admit, I recently got some training in gong fu, and I think it was also my brewing style. I just re-tried some of the ones I didnt like and brewed them a different way. Meaning more leaf less brewing time and they came out much much better.thanks wrote:Which ones did you try? I only don't like the 8582 (well a great deal at least).Jeremy wrote:I just realized after all of the debate why I started this thread. It was because I didnt like most of the menghai 2008 samples that I had
Also Kimble, I agree with most if not all of your views. I understand your position, and once again sorry for the less than warm welcome, but I assure you I'm normally a nice guy! Haha. Regardless, once again welcome and we hope you stick around!
Yeah if only I could tell you how many samples I'd "wasted" because of my poor brewing skills.Jeremy wrote:I think it was the 7542 and the 0622 samples that I didnt like. To think, that I still think this about samples I've just brewed a few months ago! We're constantly learning and getting better. It's somewhat comforting.

I was joking a bit, and it is occaisonnaly mis-called the law of Thelma, whose name is a famous scooby doo character...
Basicly, I meant, If you like drinking 2008 sheng, then 2008 sheng is perfect to drink. It is not "wrong" to enjoy it in a way different than what others percieve to be "right", as chances are, the closer you look at what is the "right" way, you will find it "wrong"

You are right. There is no wrong time or right time to drink sheng. If you enjoy it when it is a year old drink it. If not, put it away.. Many of the Chinese minorities drink young sheng on a daily basis. I believe this is even their preferred way.orguz wrote:Interesting read re: thelmaTomVerlain wrote:Yes, Crowley made it famous, as the law of Thelema, see wikiorguz wrote: I could be totally wrong but wasn't this phrase coined by Alistair Crowley that british druid bloke.

Rules are wonderful things to be broken.I have to agree with your take on this, drink it if it's enjoyable to you. I met a tea student of the Best Tea House guy in H.K, she drinks sheng and enjoys them, she admits that other pu drinkers never touch young sheng, nothing wrong with that.
