Coconut shell teapot
For my one-year anniversary of being a Peace Corps volunteer in BEAUTIFUL Vanuatu, the locals crafted me a very well-done Coconut Shell Bowl and gave me a pound of Tie Kuan Yin (although my one year anniversary is not until January). The bowl actually serves as an AMAZING tea pot! I think it works better for Oolong then my Gongfu pot in fact!

Here's a pic of it (I swear it's not falling off the table!)

Surprised by its efficiency as a teapot, I was able to serve the whole village with plenty of tea as a kava chaser at the local nakamal. The photo is kind of choppy, but digital cameras are literally unheard of here. Given the expenses of island-to-island transport, I was quite surprised the locals were able to give me jars of TGY. I have the feeling they were given it by another volunteer

That is really beautiful. Teaware is so much more meaningful when you know the craftsman that made it, even if it wasnt intended to be teaware. Im sure this will be something you will treasure forever! I look forward to seeing more pictured of it when you have the opportunity or means to do so!
