True, it may not be tea "per se", but I add tea to all beverages to add flavor and the health benefits. Even if I didn't, I'd still drink some beverages like V8 V fusion even if I didn't add tea to them so this way I can "have my tea and drink it too" enjoy my other beverages more knowing I'm doing even more for my health.olivierco wrote:There isn't any rules.
You drink what you like but beyond a certain point what you get isn't tea anymore. When you start making a mixture adding alcohol, herbals, fruit juice, etc... to some tealeaves it isn't tea anymore.

When I visited TeaSmith in London the owner advised me to stick some decent dan cong into a bottle of good quality vodka and leave it for 24hrs, it's the only time I've enjoyed straight vodka.
I also mix the occasional single malt with a dash of tea instead of a few drops of water. My best success so far has been a little dash of yunnan gold in Laphroaig.

Ultimately, these are simply tea infused drinks, whether alcoholic or otherwise. An bottler of RTDs could not label these as teas, maybe tea infused or tea flavored beverages.
I have to question the health benefits of adding tea leaf to something like alcohol, just sayin' ... if it tastes good, I say go or it for that reason.
