Any advice or links on where to find the truth in tea?
I've been reading alot of posts that are making me think twice on teavana. Over priced is right, but does anyone know where to find the nitty gritty truth on whats the best tea, best way to brew and best teapot? I'm interested in the traditional japanese way of brewing and japanese teas. I live in Miami, FL. trying to find a good local place that doesnt charge crazy prices, but also has the high quality items (tea, teapots and accessories) I've also read a few things on the cheap quality pots teavana sells at high quality prices. trying to avoid buying into that. lol looking for what we all strive to purchase, high quality with the low quality price tag.

The short answer is: It depends...
There' really no one "best" anything. Teas and teaware all vary in price and quality, so the best you can afford might be crap to someone else. Take a look around the forums and you'll find lots of information on vendors for both tea and teaware, tons of reviews of all different kinds of tea, and lots of great brewing tips. You might want to start in the green tea forum if your primary interest is in japanese tea.

Yeah, best is a bit subjective, but I think we can still help you out.
For Japanese tea and tea ware I highly reccomend sticking to shops in Japan (Though Den's tea is a great, notable exception). Just to name a few, O Cha, Hibiki an, Ippodo are great places for good quality Japanese tea. You might not like every tea, but you can trust that you are getting a fair quality to price ratio.
