Keemun Recommendations

by Buzz Fledderjohn » Dec 11th, '08, 14:29

I am buying a gift for a friend who is a big fan of Keemuns. Can anyone recommend some places to get good Keemun...possibly some Hao Ya?

I haven't tried Harney's but it should be good and makes a nice presentation.
The promo is still on for 10% off and free shipping over $25 and I just tried it and it works for this tea priced right at $25. So $22.50 and free delivery.

But then again I thought the new Adagio Keemun Rhapsody is very good too.

Ahhhh, keemun black. A few years ago, I could have told you. It seems that interest in Keemun has subsided a bit over the last few years, or is it my imagination.

Probably the China thing. Another reason for the boost in Darjeeling and Nilgiri.

You know I was gonna say that - but if you buy from Silk Road - Get the Red Peach.

What about Adagio's keemuns? They offer four of them now (incl. English Breakfast). Does anyone have a favorite among these? (Personally, I'm partial to a bit of smoke in keemun.)

The "China Keemun" from Upton is nice, but then, I think that's the only one I've tried. My wife loves it, and we just emptied our bag, which is why I came here -- to find recommendations on Keemun! (I usually stay out of the black tea forum -- too strong for me, hehe.) I might just order it from them again..

I only tasted the Keemun Rhapsody. A good one, not very smoky.
