Gah! Thank you for the birthday wishes/spankings, everyone!
I had a really, really odd birthday. See, between being a December baby, having my next youngest brother also being a December baby, and having my birthday fall right when my parents plan to road trip to Florida...well, I can't say I've actually celebrated my birthday properly since I was 8 or so. (The standard tradition is for my parents to get a cake decorated with poinsettias that says "Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday Mary and Jordan" which we have for dessert on Christmas Eve. That's the extent of the celebration.)
This year, not only was my inbox flooded with facebook greetings and longer notes from friends and family, I got something like five unexpected packages in the mail from said f&f, and a couple blokes I live with cooked a full (and well-balanced!) dinner AND baked me a birthday cake.
Honestly, I spent most of December 19th spontaneously bursting into tears, I was so touched.
Thanks everyone, and happy (slightly belated) birthday to Geekers!
