ABx sent me the famous (thanks to geekgirl) dragon gaiwan from Serenity Art, some SA gao shan, some harbor tea from Hou De, and a number of little samples from his stash. Woot!

Pics later!

I got scruff matching cups as well :) The samples and stuff were, however, stuff that I had been promising to send him forever but kept neglecting to actually do. The SS thing just made a convenient excuse to send them :)

...and scruff got me (half of) a 97 Shui Xian brick from Tea Gallery - Very cool! :) I'm waiting for a better tea day to try it, but I'm looking very much forward to it. He also included a couple of samples of his own stash on the side.

You got your SS package? On this side of town we haven't had any mail delivery since Monday, or maybe even last Saturday. Well, something might have come today, but the bus that services my neighborhood didn't start running until this afternoon, so I don't know yet. :(

Deliveries have been a bit weird here. I went to my mom's in Milwaukie up in the hills and I thought she had more snow, but it actually turned out that my neighborhood was much worse. I've had a lot of stuff held up, but for some reason this one came through on Wednesday. It was by UPS and it was just a small package, so perhaps that had something to do with it. I'm expecting 3 or 4 others by USPS, however, that haven't been delivered. I don't know if it's because of the snow on my street or if they got held up elsewhere (or maybe even just holiday rush), but they should have all been here by now.

Hopefully I'll get them tomorrow, and hopefully all the snow will be gone tomorrow. Once everything is clear I have a date with SA and Tao of Tea :)

IKWYM, I've got 3 other packages somewhere in the system. Although they weren't necessarily for Xmas, and I know what's in them.

Beuler? ...Bueller? ...Bueller? ...Bueller?

Scruff's gift turned out to be the best Shui Xian I've had to date. It has great deep notes of sweet fruit, exotic wood, and a spiciness that makes the tongue tingle like a Rou Gui (the cinnamon spicy hot but without the cinnamon taste). I'm going to have to get a full brick to have around; this is one that I would really like to keep on hand.

The leaf is interesting. The brick is extremely dense; I pried off a few small chunks, which turned a lot of it into what I thought was dust. After about 5 or 6 steeps, though, it turned out that those tiny crumbs were actually full leaves. I don't think I've ever actually seen a tea rolled up this tight before. It's got great durability, though.

Jeepers, that's the fourth "Ferris Bueller" reference I've seen in two days...did it air on cable recently or something?

Hehe well I saw it on cable like 3 or so months ago, but I think it's the stock response for such situations for anyone that can remember those times :D

So what about you, Mary? Didn't you have like 10 secret santa's :D But seriously, even though you didn't do the SS thing, did you get any tea presents? I wouldn't mind hearing other people's tea related non-SS presents. Unfortunately I didn't get any others myself (despite giving them my Amazon wish list full of tea stuff  ).

Nah, Santa wasn't good to me this year. My parents and grandparents sent me various forms and amounts of currency...that was about it.
