Any sites worth checking out besides Adagio, O-Cha and Dens?

by AlexTheGreat » Dec 28th, '08, 23:25

I'm just wondering if there are any other tea sites worth checking out for buying tea other than Adagio, O-Cha and DensTea.

I'm mainly interested in buying Japanese green teas, but I'm also interested in non-green teas like black, oolong, white, pu-ehr etc.

Only recommend sites with high-quality loose leaf teas.

Thanks.

Rishi, Teaspring, Red Blossom Tea Co, Ippodo, Hibiki an to name a few. Here's a decent list with links:

Space, you're shameless.

Houdeasianart.com for pricy puerh, puerhshop.com for more affordable puerh. There are vendor lists all over the place. Space's blog, my blog, pu-erh livejournal community.

Thanks for the recommendations.

So far the most promising sites I've come across seem to be:

. O-Cha (includes LOTS of info on the tea you purchase. I'm convinced that their teas are high-quality based on what people here say)
. DensTea (seems to be quite similar to O-Cha)
. Zencha (looks like the people who run the site are knowledgeable about tea, which leads me to believe that their teas are of high-quality)
. Adagio (huge selection of teas, and includes quite a bit of info about the teas you are purchasing)

My next green tea purchase will likely be from O-Cha. When ordering any other kind of tea, I will likely stick with Adagio.

Adagio doesn't specialize in Japanese green teas, so I will probably order from O-Cha instead when ordering any kind of green teas.

Japanese green teas seem to receive more praise from people than Chinese, so I will probably stick to Japanese grown stuff.
