Suggestions?

I'm newer to the loose tea world. I love herbal, and flavored teas. I'm looking to try some more black. I just tried a sample of Golden Monkey and liked it. I was wondering if anyone could give me a few others to try. So far I've only ordered online from adagio and have loved everything I've gotten. I've been playing with my zarafina my DH got me for Christmas and love it. In fact I think it's made my tea obsession worse! Hehehe  ! I guess there are worse vices!

Welcome!

I like both yunnan gold & yunnan noir.

Go to the black tea tab and read the reviews.

I would try the Darjeeling Muscatel from Rishi Tea since you are coming from an herbal/flavored background. It has really good floral notes and a rich mouthfeel. I think you should also look into Oolongs.

I second Victoria's recommendation for the Yunnan Noir. It's one of Adagio's newer offerings and it has gotten a lot of good comments.

I also agree that you may be interested in Darjeelings, since they often have a fruity quality without being flavored. Adagio's Darjeeling #22 and/or the Spring Darjeeling might be good introductions to this variety, since they represent the two ends of dark-to-light Darjeeling spectrum.

I also have to say Darjeeling is a great way to branch out from black tea, and may be a good transition into oolongs too. My favorites from Adagio are the Spring Darjeeling, Darjeeling #1, and my most favorite is the Oooh Darjeeling.

And since you liked Golden Monkey... Golden Spring has quite a similar flavor, but to me has a better aroma and a sweeter finish... I really enjoyed my sample of it very much.

Good luck on your exploration.

Twice a day extra vitamin C and zinc lozenges worked for me!
