Using half the amount of leaf, and 175f water in my 100ml gaiwan, I was able to get better results out of it. Then again, for the first three infusions it smelled like baozhong, tasted like baozhong, and even looked like baozhong. In a blind taste test I would have definitely said, with almost 100% certainty that what I was drinking was in fact baozhong. Then on the fourth infusion it introduced that slightly astringent citrus note I know to associate with dancongs, and I was confused by the taste and aroma. This continued while getting more astringent and puckering-sweet until I couldn't take it anymore.
I dislike this tea. Very much, in fact. It doesn't know what it wants to be, and fails at all of it. I've got roughly 90g to play with, and hopefully by the end of that I'll have liked at least one session of it. This is of course my personal opinion.

I had my last oolong (TGY) yesterday around 4pm, and had difficulty falling in sleep last night, and haven't started to think about today's oolong yet

What's wrong about it tasting like baozhong? Doesn't it cost much less than baozhong anyway

Ah, yeah I should have clarified. I don't dislike baozhong, I dislike this tea for not being dancong. If I wanted boazhong, I would have ordered baozhong. Also, the pleasant baozhong-like flavors and aromas only last three infusions, then it becomes plain awful after that taking on all the worst aspects of baozhong and dancong combined! But I still think you are so demanding. You blame a fragrant tea for not being itself
Brian I agree that it could always be worse. Imen's is so much better that it more than earns it's slightly higher price tag. Her Da Wu Ye is a steal.
