INFJ here, though the introversion and extroversion part is very close. Like many others, it all depends on my mood. I like being alone and large crowds make me nervous, but when I warm up to people, I can be very friendly and talkative, especially when I get excited. I have no issues chatting with strangers or public speaking, but I definitely need my alone time to be happy.
Right now I am enjoying my alone time with a purring cat sleeping on the back of my chair and the last bits of some YM in my cup.

INTJ here... and almost off the scale as far as introversion goes. I usually joke that if I were any more introverted, I'd be dead.
I once attended a Myers-Briggs training in which we did introvert/extravert breakout groups. When I spoke on behalf of the introvert group to the larger group, my fellow I's revolted and accused me of being an extravert because I was so comfortable in my public-speaking role!
But they were wrong. As I pointed out, public speaking is a skill that anyone can learn. I forced myself to learn it (and it was a major effort, too) back when I did human-rights work. Of course, learning that skill - along with learning how to engage in "small talk" more easily - didn't affect my high introversion score one iota. I still fit the introversion profile very neatly, and this is most obvious when I'm tired; I must retreat into silence and solitude to recharge. Socializing in large groups demands a lot of energy (and I can't do it unless I'm already "topped up"), but chatting one-on-one with close friends is enjoyable always.
Incidentally, shyness does not equal introversion. This is a common misconception. There are plenty of extraverts who are shy, and introverts who are not. I don't think anyone I know would call me shy!
P.S. Changed "chatting one-on-one with friends" to "...close friends". Small talk with people I don't know - well, it doesn't exhaust me, exactly, but it doesn't energize me in the way that "content-rich" talk with close friends does.

Great poll!!! Took at least 2 different personality type tests
and I agree w/ Chip - see comments under
Monday's TeaDay intro-, and also w/ Chamekke above, we all have
preconceived notions of who we are or what we think we are, and TBH,
I was quite surprised to see how everything we do, react, etc.,
is all related to our personality preferences. If you have not taken
a 'test', please do and you just might be surprised! And more than
likely you will be seeing yourself not as you are!
Thanks Sarah for posting all the'definations', however, as you know the
test is a must in order to see who you really are. Probably can google
and find one on the Myers/Briggs site, huh?
Have a FAB TeaDay all!
