People we like?

by scruffmcgruff » Jan 13th, '09, 11:01

Given the number of threads dedicated to *BOO*, I figured maybe it was time to start a thread where we could say nice things about people. :)

I think we should keep an eye on girlchocolate and bcos. They seem like pretty level-headed guys (yes, girlchocolate is a guy, it confused me too), and I've enjoyed my conversations with them. They're still pretty noobish so I'm not considering them for ITD right now, but I think they could be nice additions to our club someday.

He was being considered over in this thread but it had been mentioned that he wasn't very considerate of other people so the jury was still out.

Thanks Proinsias for a straight answer. Maybe that's why he is so involved in the teadrunk forum

Although my first answer was cheeky, the simple truth is that I find almost everyone I meet in TC to be pretty agreeable. It's hard to actually pinpoint a few individuals I like when I really just like the huddled masses in general.

(I actually get along better with tenuki than I suspect most ITDers do. We haven't had a harsh exchange in a really long time.)

Heh, Tenuki practically complimented me yesterday. Good thing I was sitting.

Like padre, I enjoy discussions with the vast majority of TCers. We tend to vent about the few exceptions here since it is generally unhealthy to start direct flame wars on the GF.

I count wyardley as a friend. I find he knows quite a bit about making tea; he shines with oolong, yancha in particular.

Like many people into tea, Will feels that if you don't agree with him, it means he's failed to convince you of why you're wrong, so he keeps trying...on some occasions not very tactfully.

"Tact = making a point without making an enemy" good quote, though I don't remember who said it.

He means well, and while he and I disagree on many tea topics/issues, I've learned in the past year not to take it all so seriously, because most of what we "know" about tea and making tea is merely belief or opinion incognito. Tea is a religion.

Anyway, I have and will continue to keep all comments in confidence (NO SPY NO LEAK  )

Yeah, I know whta you mean. He does take is comments very seriously which make him appear to be some kind of tea zealot. I remember one time not too long ago where he totally took a simple poll of mine on gongfu and totally blew it out of porportion.

Sounds like my ex wife. Kind of why I am not overly fond of him. That being said, he is not a complete douche; I purchased one of his pots and the exchange was very pleasant.

There are people on the forum, him, Ed Krueger, Tenuki, that are ok guys, I just watch my conversations with them because we tend to dissagree, passionately sometimes. This is easily just as much my fault as it is theres.

Other than that, I lurk more now than I interact with new poeple. :(
