Victoria - I tried the Baozhong and it was good. Had a nice Tang to it but my friend and his mom (who I was introducing to teas) found it was even better after a nibble on a toffee/chocolate. Sweet up front and tangy at the end.
I also tried the Rou Gui already. Its a nice tea that I can see myself drinking but not all the time. I still prefer the more buttery oolongs.

WHF was CRAZY!!! So much teaware in one place! And so much stuff I have seen on eBay - and for SO MUCH LESS!!! So many cups and gaiwans and yixings, oh my! My SIL was totally into it at that point, buying a yixing for oolongs and one for blacks and tea boats and cups and supplies AND a kettle!!! With bearsbearsbears helping her make the best choices - they even will do test pours from the teapots you choose! That was amazing!!andy825 wrote:I dont have a problem with pics being posted. What I really want to see, though, are pictures of all the loot you guys got at WHF!!!
As for me - ummm I already went a little crazy at Hankook, buying a cup and saucer and two travel sets as well as tea AND coasters!!!! Not to mention what I had bought at Imen's store! I still could not resist the call of more cups, at those crazy low prices! I will try to post some teaware pics soon!
OH!! And I almost FORGOT to mention - AS we were enjoying our tea at Imen's I mentioned how I had tried mochi for the first time earlier this year in Hawaii. And guess what andy825 says??????
-------I have some in the car right now!!! ---------
She had made matcha mochi for us all!!! What a treat!!!
Lovely tea and sweet treats from Andy - Thanks so much!!!
It was delish!

Glad you like it! I do have to comment on how accommodating Brian from Shan Shui Teas was - I emailed him on Monday (holiday-MLK day) saying I really wanted some of the same Baozhong I have really been enjoying as of late to share with my TeaChat friends on our outing. He not only double checked which Boazhong it was, but he also gave me the SALE price AND he popped it in the mail priority on Tuesday morning and invoiced me later - just to make sure it arrived.Vulture wrote:Also

Thanks to all for the big fun.
I really enjoyed meeting you all on Saturday. Major thanks to Imen for her incredible hospitality and generosity.
Victoria - I haven't tasted the tea yet, but thank you for such a warm gesture.
Jason - thanks for letting me pick your brain.
Will - you have my authorization to use my image.
Looking forward to future tastings and adventures.

So where are the pics? If you don't post em here, please PM me them if you can.
Also I am thinking we can try this or a similar type trip in 6 months or so. (Bi Annual kinda thing). We don't have to go to the same places or even go to Poway for some tastings. I am not sure but I will try to post something about in May or June.

Sorry - haven't had a chance to do anything with them yet. If anyone who was there wants the full set, PM me with your email. I don't know how many of them are usable because a lot contain at least one person who didn't want their image posted.Vulture wrote:So where are the pics?
