Hawaii would be a nice break- and I've seen pictues of Turtle Bay- seems so beautiful as I gaze at the icy snow outside my window. hhhhmmm what would be a good tea to have on that break???

I tried some Pu Erh Dante today, really hard to get past the smell, every time i go to take a drink i'm reminded of the zoo's pachyderm house...

happy birthday teaday!

 Wow. I've never thought about it. I've ordered from Singapore but I cannot remember the vendor. Probably close.

Nice Yixing, Salsero. Where'd that come from? S-bux has those double-walled Bodum cups, but they seemed so fragile that I got a plum colored porcelan double-walled cup. It's awesome not burning your fingers. I think I am over the Bodum cups now.

Hi all... touching base for a fix of contact with the outside world. Even a natural disaster can't stop me from wishing TeaDay a happy birthday!!!

Still no power, no gasoline for over 60 miles,
trees blocking roads, all grocery stores closed, and water from tap down to a trickle. My family is huddled together and doing fine. I am sipping some hot TKY and feeling thankful for the good fortunes we have. My cell is my only contact with the world and only a few calls will go thru but I can get internet most of the time. we hear that the national guard and FEMA are en route.

Take care all, I will check in soon.

Thanks for the update, Kymidwife. I guess it could be worse, but still ... it sounds pretty darn bad! Who's delivering the babies in this weather?

Augie, that pot is from Yunnan Sourcing which is in Kunming in Yunnan province, 8,651 miles away! It was listed as "hei ni" which apparently means "black mud." It feels and handles almost like a metal. I think the black color comes from iron.

I've never reached my paws to as far as Kunming (yet :P) because I don't seriously drink puerh. I guess the farthest I've reached is Guangdong or Sichuan, not sure which is further  I once got some tea from Yunnan, but that's when I was in Yunnan.

You are surely a hard core teachatter!! :o
Do you have a hand-wind rechargable flash light kind of thing? It could be useful when power is out. The situation sounds terrible! Good luck and hope this will pass soon!

Tried a mystery sencha from TIM today, I am thinking it is either fukamushi or chumushi, besides that I have no idea. Finished the day with Gyokuro Kame from O-Cha, so a pretty good TeaDay.

Going for some Mugi/genmai for something warm ...

Stay warm and safe kymidwife!
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

I order about 75% of the tea I drink directly from China and Japan.

Finished the day with Golden Monkey, speaking of China.

Winter in North Florida is more like a prolonged autumn up north, so I’m sticking with my fall colors, and a puerh with a pronounced nutty character. A squirrel probably ate the Pignut Hickory, not me. I just like to pick them up off the forest floor and handle them.

Salsero, the composition and color here are just stunning. Wow.

Sal, your dancing pickle disturbs me on a level I can't even begin to explain.
