Help!
My kyusu (in nearly daily use since March-ish 2008) has stuff flaking off into
my cup. I see a build up on the inside where there screen does not cover. This flaking off stuff is coming from the the other side of the screen (it has the swing type of filter.)
I clean with hot water sent both ways after each use. Is there some other way I should clean this dear little vessel? I've run boiling hot water thru it since I noticed this the other day, but that doesn't seem to be doing the trick.
I have only brewed Japanese greens in this pot (sencha, gyokuro, houjicha).
Thanks much,
Dreamer

A small bottle brush and toothpick does the trick!
I had that with my first one, I think it was tea stained scale. It would come off in flakes. Now I just do a preventative cleaning with the bottle brush every so often.
Since I use a graviTea water filter, I don't think I will have this issue so much.
