I picked ``other'' because all I want is to spend a quiet evening alone with my wife.
We'll have a special dinner with wine, and we _might_ try the yutaka midori that was delivered this afternoon. But all that really matters is being with my wife.

I haven't had any tea yet today! Maybe I'll start with a Xi Ping TGY from Jing?

Happy Valentines Day folks!

Once again, I'm drinking the 2004 puerh wild harvest...

Hmmm, what would I like? All of the above, no doubt. Everybody here has mentioned great stuff - dark chocolate, flowers, teaware, fine dining. I wish you all the best of what you love, and I think KY midwife said it well yesterday, that home is where the heart is (which fits with the valentine theme). Here's a present to all of you:

You might have to lose the old man unless he shapes up!

I have one of those ... as do several TeaChatters. They are great cups ... and your new name for them is most apt. Actually, I think sometimes they can ooze.

Chamekke has suggested a way to stop leaking if it occurs. Mine has never leaked in the slightest, BTW.

Buzz Fledderjohn has suggested soaking hagiware HERE both before the first use and again before subsequent sessions. I did his suggested first soak. When I remember, I follow his ongoing suggestion.

Well, someone finally got the right answer! I have never understood Valentine's Day as yet another obligatory gift giving event. Warning, Brlarson: you better have a little something to give her!

Good news...I did get a gaiwan today..pretty... at a great price.
Bad news...I already broke the saucer.

Good news...it still makes a nice oolong brew!

Make it a great day,

I chose "fine dining", which for me was P F Chang's for a nice late lunch with their oolong tea. I met my DH 23 years ago this week, unbelievable. Tomorrow is the oldest kids 15th birthday  for which he has chosen Cheeseburger in Paradise! This is going to be a green-tea-detox week for certain.

We finished off the day with a trip to an Asian market on our side of town. Their tea selection has tapered off . . . :( So, I think I will look online for some new tea for valentines day.

Hey Sal. You're right, of course. I don't consider them a gift, but we had a romantic dinner in a country restaurant and then spent the night at our favorite Westin with a bottle of Billecart-Salmon and enjoyed breakfast in bed.

But that was yesterday. Today I plan to share some Yutaka Midori with her!

Happy Valentines Day everyone.

Today's my birthday, so I got a fair amount of gifts today. I chose "techy stuff", but since I got my iPhone for Christmas I haven't been jonesing for any other hardware. I mostly received gift cards today, although my sister got me a mug that looks like cabled knitting. As a knitter I have to love it.

The only bad thing today was that I couldn't go bike riding because of the rain...

I have to choose other. Laundry, grocery shopping, cleaning the bathrooms... :P Along with some real treat, meat festival...

Deep in my heart I feel V day is just another commercial mass propaganda. But I always expect something for V day, because, why not :P You know, when you have the gift giving routine, you can always announce to abolish it, but it's hard to go the other way around

The orchid I got from a V day 6 years ago is blooming now :D It blooms almost every year around February, and the pretty flowers stay there till late May, almost like fake flowers

I went for tea and teaware.

My friend's girlfriend phones or messages me every few months to ask which tea stuff Brian would like as a present. I try to make a song and dance about this when it happens to my wife but a few years in and there is are still no tea pressies :(

Too much of a manufactured holiday for my taste. DH is out of town for the weekend for a family event, and I had a seminar at Purdue, so that's the extent of my romantic weekend.

As a consolation prize, though, my TeaSpring samples came today. :D

I voted tea and teaware, and just to make my vote 100% accurate, I used some $$ from a bonus I just got and bought myself some teas from TeaSource and an authentic Brown Betty teapot. Yay me!

My hubby is working tonight so it's just the kid and me, enjoying take & bake pizzas.

Happy V-Day Everyone! XXXOOO!

Valentines; stupid waste of day. But I'm not bitter or anything.

Receiving flowers makes me smile and get all mushy inside (I am such a girl  ). My true love language is 'time spent together', but I wouldn't turn down 'fine dining' if it meant a good steak dinner.

In my cup today: started out with Flintridge Chai with a little stevia and almond milk. Followed by several steeps of some sort of Chinese green with roses (that's as specific a tea as the label will reveal.)

Honestly, I just want a hug. Today marks six and a half years with my boyfriend, and I'm stuck about three hours away from home at a residency for school. Yay timing.

Tea has been plentiful and often, but mostly unremarkable.

I voted tea/teaware. My boyfriend took me to my favorite local tea place (Cha Ma Gu Dao). He bought me a cute tea pot with a cat on it. I treated myself to a new yixing and some green tea. I didn't sample it but they had the cutest flavored black tea called Sweetheart. Those are little sugar hearts.

I bought him a signature blend I made with him in mind. It was a hit :)
