I like soup. Especially a really good French Onion Soup. The other day I had an awesome Pesto Chicken Soup for lunch at a little bakery cafe place.

Currently in my cup is a Ceylon that picked up on a whim from the local organic store. It was simply labeled as Orange Pekoe and was on the clearance rack for $4.99 for a 3.5oz tin. The leaves are surprisingly whole and the tea is pretty tasty.

The main course is the most important for me. I love good soup and salad and appetizers, but if the main course doesn't cut it then I won't be back. I try to avoid desserts, but I sometimes share them with my other half.

The only tea I've had today has been Xi Ping TGY from Jing. (For you wildlife buffs, I had great looks at a snowy owl this morning at the refuge near Newport where I volunteer.)

That is great! I never saw one. Perhaps we should do a TeaRoom off tea topic on something nature related.

Very cool! Last year we had a long-eared owl take up residence in our barn for a couple of weeks after we had a huge windstorm. We were sad when it finally left, we had kind of adopted it as "ours."

Today I had several steeps of my favorite Nilgiri: Glendale Handmade. When going to a restaurant, I focus on the main course and usually only order iced tea-except at Chinese restaurants.

I voted for beverage selection since my favorite restaurant of the moment happens to also be my favorite tea house. The food is out of this world but they also have a fairly large loose leaf menu. Had some cherry rose sencha with my brunch this afternoon. :D

I voted "selecting the meal" but only because "experiencing the meal" wasn't a choice. :D

I was a restaurant manager/caterer/chef for a while and the "experience" is what I'm after!! :D My wife and I have made destination dining part of our life for many, many, years!!

I definatley agree w/Drax, it's the company for me!

That said, I do like to eat so the main course is the winner for me, however, unlike many that have stated here.. :wink:,
I love dessert and order it at a fine dining restaurant whenever I can.

I bake bread so I'm always curious about what they serve, what they serve with it - I love the Italian dipping oils , the herbs and spices and peppers sometimes- I know the main course is important - but I love to bake - and bread is my specialty.

(Quite different I see.)
