I am a nature lover through and through. Summers were mostly spend camping, fishing and hiking when I was a kid. Even though I lived in the city, I was always the one who was finding interesting bugs and bringing them home.

I am also a big pet lover. I am currently owned by two betta fish, two chinese algae eaters, two snails and two cats. I've been working on the retail side of the pet industry (no live animal sales thank you very much) and am the pet product writer for examiner.com.

Unlike other nature lovers here I am pro-bug! That has to do with my love of fly fishing, which is an exquisite way to spend time outdoors. Flyfishers learn to appreciate the beauty of the caddis or mayfly, along with other types. Trying to imitate those and fool fish into biting is time well spent.

Planning a 60 mile hike for this summer through Land Between the Lakes here in Kentucky. It'll be a stepping stone for bigger things later in life. Perhaps the Appalachian Trail?

Finished my TeaDay with more nontea-tea. Heh, Herbal that is. Adagio Blood Orange, just finished the cup. I always go ahead and put a little bit of some form of sweetener in fruity teas, just to help bring out the natural sweetness they have (and because I've got a terrible sweet tooth). This tea, with just a little in it, ended up being extremely sweet. Not something I'll end the day with again. This would be a good having lunch outside in the summer tea. Might try it iced later, that'd probably be good.

I certainly love nature, although I don't get out into the wilderness as much as I like. Fortunately I live in a seaside town where I can see American eagles, hawks, otters, and seals fairly often.

No pets, although I do maintain a hummingbird feeder. The hummers in my neighbourhood seem to think I'm their pet, judging by how much they boss me around (e.g. when I make the mistake of walking onto their balcony or fail to remember that I am not welcome near the table whenever they're dining).

Here's an Anna's hummingbird, telling me off:

That's awesome! I've got a couple of bossy Anna's around here too, teehee! If their feeder isn't full, I hear about it.

I love being out...sailing, fishing, hiking, camping, etc. I'm a former "Mother Earth News" kind of guy! :D

Worked on a Habitat for Humanity house Saturday.

No tea over the weekend.

I agree Geek!

What a fun poll Chip...just like Dreamer said!

And Geek, could you please explain to this novice, what a 'tea bubble is"?
It's an awesome shot BTW! 8)

Nice humming bird picture Chemekke I love the wings have a "moving look"

I am definatly a nature person. I go backpacking every chance I get even just for a weekend trip or longer. Also day-hike a lot, especially on the warmer months. Fortunatly I have always lived in places with a forest right behind my house so I get all kinds of animals coming through the yard. A great place to relax and have a cup of tea.

Didn't have time to post yesterday but had a cup of apple mint tea from last seasons garden.

Greekgirl nice teabubble and it looks like it had some baby teabubbles too :)

Chip wrote: I have always considered myself to be a "nature lover" and even considered entering the environmental science field. I love trees, am often in awe of them. A massive oak tree that has weathered centuries in harsh climates, a redwood that towers above all other trees, a sequoia the most massive tree on the planet, a gnarly bristlecone pine thought to be the oldest living thing on earth.
Awesome array of trees Chip!

I love everything about nature, even the bugs 8) . But I do not care for spiders, in fact they really give me the creeps...ugh.

Sometimes I wish I would have gone into a nature-related profession... oh well, I can still wish. There is always time to do the things we want to, right?

Chip, I too enjoyed reading all the responses. As still a relative newbie, it is nice to learn more about my fellow TeaChatters! Thanks for the tiny breakaways on the weekends.

teehee! I think you're overthinking. It's a bubble on the surface, from pouring. It's amazing how quickly they all pop.

Interesting restaurant coffee note: when you pour fresh coffee into a mug, there are lots of bubbles on the surface that last for a minute or two (or until you put milk/spoon in the cup.). Old, "dead" coffee will not have bubbles from the pour. Your server should know this.

I'm with you - that's my kind of nature. Seeing it from the comfort of your car. :) This summer I'm going to go to Vogel State park in Georgia. It's nice and "nature-y" but I will be staying in my cabin with electricity, running water and AC. No cell phone reception, though. That's as rough as I get.

Heh. Reminds me of Woody Allan's first published joke: "I am two with Nature."

  I would consider myself a nature lover...untill recently. I have this biology professor that is making me HATE plants. Not really because the plants suck, but because their names are all so goofy. Their tissue names are all so goofy too, names like parenchema, sclerenchema, and collenchema. Are they serious????????! I swear that biologists name thing with complicated words just so they can laugh at the thought of us Bio students trying to pronounce those words using horrific latin...

I'm not really sure how to classify myself as a nature lover or not. I do like concrete jungles though. But this is this and that is that.
