Live Tea

by 10/6 » Feb 27th, '09, 03:57

I am considering starting a modest tea show via the tubes via a web cam.

This is largely a half-baked Idea, as I haven't exactly come up with a terrifyingly catchy agenda.

Things I have contemplated Include
-brewing technique
-tea ware tips
-tea tips
-vital information pertaining to the tea industry
-guests via skype or what silly hats have you
-some sort of review thing

I would love suggestions.

When I saw "Live Tea" it made me think of, well, you know... something alive. So maybe you could get a live tea plant and eat it!!

There are soo many tea podcasts out right now that you have to do something to stand out or atleast something that's different that shows different aspects of tea. Hmm don't know about being really catchy but if you do make live tea as a review please do this, in addition to what you mentioned:

1. Show preparations, brewing (with time lapse please), and collection/storing of leaves for re-steeping (at least for the first episode to show how you keep your leaves fresh)

2. Do a wide array of tea and tisanes (oolongs and puerhs to fruit and mushroom teas (haha just kidding bout the mushrooms))

3. Try the tea in different ways. Multiply steeps, having it cold, with sweeteners that you can also review (agave and sugar crystals etc), and other additives (milk, or blends).

4. And last but not least I would like someone to get a basic or flavored tea and compare it to that same tea, but not flavored, with real dried fruit they added (ex. like adagio's mango green tea compared to green tea with dried mangos added to teapot)

I know some people are purist about adding anything to their tea but I add whatever I think makes it taste better to me. Good luck and post back if you ever start it so I can subscribe :D

Thanks for the suggestions Ebtoulson.

As much as I love Rooibos and Mate, I feel like tea is more then enough to keep my hands full. The mushroom tea on the other hand could certainly make for an interesting episode. heh.

Other thing I'm considering in order to make the episodes interesting is my attractive lady friend. heh. :D

I'm thinking that the staple of the show may be the guests.

I certainly enjoyed the samovar videos with the interviews.

Anyway, that was certainly a garbled post by myself. Perhpas its time for sleep.

:D

Thanks for the reply.
