i live in a dorm so i don't have a lot of space (abt 230 sq ft including the bathroom). For me the actual making of the tea and drinking it is relaxing. So while i don't have the luxury of an actual place specifically designated for me to drink tea, i can still make a cup of tea and take a break from studying and bask in the simple pleasure.

In the dorm that I had, I created some ambiance by using a blue light bulb in one of my lamps. With all the other lights off, it made it a little more peaceful compared to the harsh white lights that were on otherwise. I also used some oriental style scrolls for decorations. We weren't allowed candles, but my roommate had a candle warmer which sometimes was a nice contrast to the scent of the tea.TheJerseyDevil wrote:Ah, I suffer the same fate. It's do-able, though. I have come to realize that tea ambiance is something that I have had for some time, and that it does not have to be tea related. Any setting that one finds relaxing is what's needed to have tea ambiance. I make use of a tidy space that might be in a corner, or even make use of the computer area (which I most often do). And then there is the outside patio, where I can watch the birds and squirrels while enjoying a quite moment. Those areas and more have been peaceful locations where I have enjoyed just being, no matter if I was reading or just enjoying having meditation.
