It really depends on the tea for me also. For my morning black teas I enjoy them sometimes with just a drop of milk or cream. Rarely sugar unless I really want that extra little bit of "something." Sometimes when I make earl grey ill put a bit of extra cream in it and steep it with some rock cane sugar to make a sort of dessert tea which is phenomenal! With flavored white teas sometimes I'll add some rock sugar to bring out the natural sweetness of it, but never in regular white teas. And I generally don't put anything in my green teas. I tried steeping some sakura sencha with the rock sugar and it didn't really do anything for it.

Until last spring, I always had to add sweetener to my tea...I was drinking bag tea...not really because I liked it a lot, but because I like a warm beverage. I always added stevia. If it was available I'd add half-n-half, too.
I discovered Japanese green tea (matcha first) as I was searching for a healthier tea (who really knows what's in the cheap store bought tea bags I used to drink) that I could drink without sweetening. Indeed, I did find that the Japanese greens are "sweet" and I wouldn't think of adding a thing!
Now that I'm expanding back to blacks (good loose leaf blacks), I am finding that I can drink them without sweetener too. Today I've enjoyed some Ceylon Sonata...I had one cup with stevia and half-n-half, one with just half-n-half and the whole second steep, I just enjoyed it "straight up".
