I'm eight months into my TeaJourney and the entire journey has been full of discoveries.

I started with a TGY from Teavanna and then a 10 tea sampler of loose Chinese tea from Foojoy, which included a very satisfying sample of loose cooked pu. While I-searching for new tea sources and for info about pu-erh TeaChat kept coming up, and that brought me here. This forum is a great resource and it has a wonderful community of folks. Once here, I learned how to brew tea properly and that really opened things up for me. Japanese greens are next!

Mem Imports Organic Dark Wuyi Oolong in my cup again this morning.

Definitely the present for me! Since I joined this website my knowledge of tea has increased exponentially and I've been loving every minute of learning and trying new things! And I've recently started my own personal teaware collection, as well as getting into pu erh's and sencha! And very soon I'll be getting into Oolongs! This is a very exciting tea time for me :D

Nothing in the cup yet, but I plan to make some sakura sencha here in a bit :)

The present for me too. Only recently discovered loose leaf tea, and had been drinking bags for a long while before that. Found some better than others, but now I never want to go back to bags again.

Started this morning with a cup of Ginseng Green (one of my favorites if no one's noticed, yeah, i know, flavored... but i like it). Followed that quickly with a travel mug full of the stuff.

Gonna go try a black tea that Teatulia sent me to try right now.

I guess it was exciting in the beginning when I found out what actual green tea is supposed to taste like. And then of course discovering all the different kinds. It's still exciting for me now because I'm more knowledgeable and I get to experiment with different brewing methods and new teas. Not very exciting for my bank account, sadly.

Oh and of course discovering a whole forum of people addicted to tea that share their knowledge was pretty awesome.

Second bowl of matcha coming up next!

The present I guess although exciting isn't maybe the right word.
After many years of tea drinking and thanks to the recent development of e-commerce (and advices from Teachatters of course), I am assured to always have some excellent teas to drink.

Otsuusan sencha and Kanro gyokuro this evening.

As cheesy as this sounds...I am amazed ALL the time.

I am a total dreamer to begin with, so tea allows me to transport to the mountainside in Fujian and the coasts of Japan.

Today Yunnan black and white, all day!

My conscious tea journey began 3 years ago and the entire process has been extremely exciting! I've gone from trying my first loose leaf teas to starting a long term storage collection in that time. Right from the start I've been constantly amazed and excited as this vast world of tea slowly opened up to me and I keep exploring deeper and deeper into it. :D

Today I'm drinking an old favorite....2004 Bei Dou Wu Yi Oolong ^.^

Right now!!!!
I've found several teas that I LOVE.
I know there are more out there that will be awesome.
I've got some pots that make a great cup.
I've got some cups that make my heart sing.
I've found this great group of folks to travel with.

This morning I brought Yunnan Jig for my tea buddy to brew for us. It blew her mind! Two great steeps!

Usually I have a Japanese green in the afternoon, but the UPS guy brought new Ceylon today so that's in my cup right now.

Happy tea travels,
Dreamer

Yikes, a rather slowwww TeaDay!

I would say my TeaJourney is full of peaks and valleys. Perhaps the most interesting time for me was when I broke away from the looong rut several years ago I was in with several vendors all of whom you would know.

My leap to international ordering changed everything in such incredible proportions. I have not looked back. In addition to ordering directly from China, Japan and Taiwan, I have found newer and better domestic USA vendors to replace the old ones as well. I could not be happier, more interested in tea, or even more excited about tea.

Fun TeaDay, starting off with Fukamushi Supreme from Yuuki-Cha. SweeTea was present and enjoyed this preparation. Pyrit and TEAh were more interested in the cool teaware and all the pouring going on. :D

Next, 2 packages arrived from Japan. One package arrived SAL in 10 days, while the EMS package somehow arrived in 2.5 days!!!!!

Matcha Tori was next, again SweeTea was present for a rich bowl.

And finally Sencha Premier from Adagio to conclude a great TeaDay, SweeTea was again by my side, Wulong was shoulder top, Pyrit was tabletop ... although might crack open some Kukicha ...

And this evening, Kabuse Cha from Yuki-Cha

I had a teabag of Yame Sencha that Zencha sent as a sample. It was pretty tasty. It smelled like clean dried hay with some toasty notes. The liquor was somewhat lean with toasted semolina and a hint of drying tannins in the finish. I don't know how to describe the primary flavors from this sencha as they were unfamiliar to me and the toasted wheat/hay notes were in the foreground. I enjoyed it, I might buy some when they finally offer it.

Had more O-Cha Gyo late this afternoon. Soon I'll be finishing my tea day with a Ceylon White from Adam's Peak.

Good night folks.

Everything is exciting! Any new tea, opening a new bag of tea, trying something different, revisiting an old favorite, it is all exciting! Not to mention all the fun tea ware that is always so interesting and fun!

In my cup is Sakura Sencha! The tea itself has gone a bit cold, but it is still delicious. It went well with the sushi that my father brought home to go with dinner.

The present is the best tea place to be in. Drinking a lovely Yunnan black tea right now in fact. This followed a wonderful organic sencha this morning. Although that was in the past...... However, this morning I enjoyed it in the present.... hmmmm.

I spent most of the day drinking Ti Kuan Yin from Dream About Tea, and now have switched to Organic Harmony, a lovely tisane from ChaChaTea.net .

It has been about a year now since I first read "The Ultimate Tea Diet" and decided to consciously incorporate tea into my daily life. To say that the changes in my health, lifestyle and thinking were remarkable would be an understatement.

Boy, this was a hard one Chip..great poll question especially for us newbies :!:

It was almost a toss up for me between fairly recently and the present! I really got excited after I found TeaChat last year, especially in September when I finally made the plunge and joined the throngs of TeaDrinkers/TeaChatters here on this great and friendly forum.

However, that being said, I voted 'the present' as I am learning more and more, getting to know the chatters better, but more importantly I am getting to know tea better and what I like and don't! Really I am super excited for Shincha time, I can hardly wait....... Keep up the great work w/TeaDay Polls!
.
Have a FAB TeaDay Everyone!
