Official Pu of the day

One of the intentionally aged teas, Pu-Erh has a loyal following.

Today is the turn of re-sipping the 2017 Manachee sheng from White2Tea. A delicious and aromatic young sheng, just to my liking.

Thanks guys. ;)

Yi Wu 2005. Old young raw? Maybe, still plenty of kick left on this one. The liquor has turned into a slightly red amber but with the Yi Wu complexity before pu starts to move into the boring category before they really mature and deliver the goods aged cakes do...for that wait another 30 years. I might not be on this planet by then so I shall to stick to young/ish cakes. :)

Going to give the 2 EoT cakes you recommended a shot plus this one, I hope its not too smokey.

Not into ageing tea, I enjoy young pu a lot more.
The Chawang Nannuo Shan Gushu is pretty decent. I drank a few cups last night. Not sure on pricing to value as I bought it much cheaper before storing.

The 2014 version is on its way to me. It should be quite interesting to compare both teas side by side.
How do they compare?

I am still deciding between YS and Tea Urchin (yr 2015) offerings.
At the moment I definitely prefer the 2017 cake.

Tried a Dayi 0712 today...home aged here in HK for three years after six years of Kunming cryostorage. Nice color change, but hard to break up and very bitter when brewed longer, grandpa style. Not as much complexity as I'd hoped for, but it is distinctly different from any other aged sheng I've tried yet. Nice aged taste to it, but again, this is something different. It'll be interesting to see what this cake is like in two years!

The Bada is a bit smoky so keep it away from the other teas you have. They have a high end one for about $90.00 US. They have a Nannuo Shan Gushu I really need to try that I have as well.

I bought a few this year but mainly to store and age. I haven't tried any but the Bada cake and it is still young. I was interested in the Xiao Yao but I failed to pull the trigger on it. I did buy the HeKai and hopefully it will be as good as the prior years.

NOte: One thing I like is that it doesn't get bitter. Also the jet-lag factor. Will wait for some time before brewing this cake again.
A good rest and some humidity will probably do it some good. Jingdong has a load of bitter upfront and then goes very sweet at the back of the tongue. I really liked it.

Not what one would expect from this type of vendor. Very disappointing in the flavour department. Lacks all of it. It ticks the boxes for what EoT describes as bitterness & thickness.

The huigan is lovely though but it will show up after 10-15 min or so after the last steep —> fruity with a touch of caramel and lasting.

The qi is so-so. Just a pass.

Now for being strong and powerful X

The worst is that I am unable to pick up any flavours in all the steeps I’m running!

This cake is as odd as.
I liked the Jingdong and the Kunlu much better than the Nancai. Last years Nancai tuo was much better than this years.
