Wonderful session with a newly opened brick of Lao Cha Tou from Norbu today. It was another stressful day of dealing with a new computer system, endlessly irritating--but the Lao Cha Tou continues to be plummy sweet earthy mellow and ever so soothing to troubled nerves.

Mellow tea week continues tomorrow.

2013 YS Nan Po Zhai -

This had a vegetal/grassy/herbal flavor profile. Reminded me of under ripe Muscatel grapes....with herbs. Chaqi was good. A tad drying in the throat. Good...but not my favorite of the group.

2013 YS San Ke Shu -

Has a fresh meadow of greens flavor….a low herbal savoriness about it. Not really any floral notes…the flavor profile seems to linger around the herbal yet is somehow quite expansive. A bit of sweetness shows up at about the third brew and by the sixth it is more present. Tea soup is quite thick and the chaqi is excellent.

EoT 2012 GFZ the 2012 does not have ad much of the muskiness as the 2012 but it is still there. It really takes a few infusions for this teato start to shine. I was not originally very happy with this tea mainly because it of the big price tag. But I think it has grown into it.

Day 2 of brewing 91 private order 7542. This is still going strong on day 2 and I'm guessing will probably see day 4 or more. This tea is the real deal.

A recent blind date with a Douji sample. It was a maocha with a fall smell and seemed to be processed a bit like red tea. It is the "zeta" for those of you keeping track of those mystery samples.

2013 YS Jingmai Shan -

As I continue to taste my way through the YS samples I've acquired...this one stood out. A touch of hay and sage like herbal notes. Round in the mouth....very nice chaqi and a persistent sweetness that is worthy of note.

2008 Essence of Tea's Bulang. Basically, this is my favourite genre of Bulang tea - dark, sweet, with honey and some camphor. It's not the best tea of this sort I had, but it is still pretty good nevertheless. And it seems nicely stored too.

Still enjoying the 2008 bamboo-aged YiWu, pot nearly full of leaf, still infusions only a minute or so after 20 or 30 of them. It makes such very nice sweet-water now towards the end, caramelicious.

Having a nice session with the 2013 YS Wa Long Village this afternoon.

*After I continued brewing this one it appeared to be over processed somewhat. Flavors dropped of quickly and soup became a darkish orange/brown. Looking at the leaves indicates this as well.
