Official Pu of the day

One of the intentionally aged teas, Pu-Erh has a loyal following.

You have tempted me to get some of it.
I think I've convinced myself to get some too! It improved a lot after it got some air. The bag was open on top of the microwave for about a month. I've already emailed Scott to see if he can cut me some sort of cash deal when I'm there. While the tea markets and hunting will be fun, I don't know any of the dealers, so no guanxi, and I don't really want to spend a week just looking for tea and sorting through mountains of crap when I know I can get great stuff from Scott and Honza.
Hopefully it does improve further as it does sound like a great tea.

http://en.the-puer.com/p/index.html These two ladies have just been there and found some goodies for me in Yunnan. I'll keep you posted but there is probably Jingmai 2014, Mahei 2014 and a 2004 Yiwu Zheng Shan raw pu'er cakes. < >

Brewing right now some High Mountain Purple Tea bought from Akira-san. Well, simply perfect .. well processed (extremely rare for purple teas), outstanding body and aftertaste, great endurance that beats me every time (I usually give up after 12/14 brews, the tea sure can go on) and well priced.

Suggested (in particular) to people who dislike (like me) bitterness or astringency in Pu Erh teas!

Just steeped some 2004 CNNP 7262 from White2Tea. Excellent smooth, sweet, caramel like colour and no funny smells.

2004/2005 Te ji grade loose shu. This is some cheap stuff I bought from Ranch 99 Chinese supermarket in 2005. Aging pleasantly despite less than stellar storage on my part.

That sounds like lovely tea Rui--I need to try some of that! I wonder if I can get an in-person cash discount in Kunming...

Mrmopu and Jayinuk, and both of you are excellent influences on me when it comes to pu'er tea. An I love to be influenced in all matters of this type of tea.

So much so that this morning I am sipping the same 2015 YUNNAN SOURCING "LAO SHU BAI CHA" OLD ARBOR RAW PU-ERH TEA.

Cheers all.

Knowing Chinese tea markets, I expect to encounter a lot of crappy tea! ;)

Stevorama, on my own, although I might meet some Couchsurfers/hang out with backpackers.
Exciting. Hopefully you'll return with some interesting tea stories.
