Official Pu of the day

One of the intentionally aged teas, Pu-Erh has a loyal following.

Stevorama, on my own, although I might meet some Couchsurfers/hang out with backpackers.

95 7581 in a big Factory 1 qing shui ni pot (500 ml or so) while reading about Yunnan. Got a ticket for $169, including insurance. Kunming here I come!
That's great. Yunnan is on my short list for out of country travel. Maybe this year or next. Are you going to do a tour or travel on your own?

1999 Hua Yuan Raw (-ish) from YS. Originally I really enjoyed this, now I find it pleasant but brief. Perhaps it's because I'm drinking what I broke up and stored in ceramic. It may have lost some potency. Or perhaps my tastes have changed. Anyone tried this?

If encouraging you to drink good YS tea is me being a bad influence, I'm happy to be one. :D
Haha Jay! I already do own a bunch of YS stuff. I am about out of room to store it.

I like that Year of the Goat. I noticed it changed profile quite a bit in the few times I've had it. I saw a youtube video of Scott drinking that tea and and some of his others. He drinks the rinse, saying he knows the production. That's a good testimonial to quality!

YS Year of the Goat 2015 Ripe sample. I really like YS' offerings. I get CNNP/Dayi tea cheap since I can have it shipped directly from an official distributor in Kunming, but YS tea is significantly different. This ripe has improved a lot after a few weeks of air in my kitchen (55-70% humidity since it's dehumidified). YS just had a ripe sale and I was really tempted to pick up some more YS cakes, but I have really bought a lot of pu this year. I don't buy tongs or anything, but I've bought enough to last me years (and I'm looking forward to my future consumption) ;)

2006 Fuhai 7576 ripe.

Has anyone tried the 2003 Fuhai 7576 ripe that was spoken of highly by Hobbes and sold (sold out) by White2Tea? I'm curious how it might compare.

Of all the purple teas I have tried so far, there are another two on the way, 2013 Hai Lang Hao "Jun Yan Qi Xiang" Purple Pu'er tea was the best one IMO.

Over the weekend someone reviewed it in Steepster to whom I sent a sample.

Unfortunately it is sold out and I am hunting desperately for another yummy purple pu'er tea...

It looks like YS US has that in stock? Maybe all hope is not lost.
Thanks for the tip

Maybe it's something like cilantro it seems to produce strong reactions both positive and negative.
Maybe, who knows. The important thing is that you liked it, isn't it? Anyway, there is so much "pu" out there: I don't like it, no big deal...NEXT!
