2004 Shou Tuo. I wish I knew more about this tea. It's amazing. From a teashop in Beijing. I lucked out because the manager was with our group.
I've been letting it mellow for the past year and a half. The humid storage aroma, which was never overwhelming, has transformed into something more sublime.

After lots of everyday shus at work (Lao Cha Tou and Golden Needle White Lotus), I've been enjoying young sheng more often at home. Working on the 2010 Pa Sha Zhong Zhai Mao Cha from Norbu, a delicate, anise-sweet brew. Lovely stuff, standing up well to nibbles of very dark chocolate.

2008 7562. I like this recipe too--pleasant start to the morning. Light bitterness and date-like aroma, but not as sweet and aromatic as the 7581. Still very nice and the grade 6 leaves are clearly distinguishable. I really like my shu bricks!

That pot was beautiful. A couple Questions.
What was in the bottle packaged with the cake in the silk wrapper?
Was that the pre 1963 People's Communes "Dragon Ball" they where taking leaves off.

2009 Xiaguan FT 8603. From a sample. Smoky. Surprisingly smooth and pleasant given it's age. Slightly viscous. Energizing. Seems lacking in body or fullness. I haven't really drank much Xiaguan.

He seems like a very interesting man, with very smooth skin. I like watching him brew and pour. My language skills are not sufficient to understand him unfortunately.

05 Yibang old tree from Chawangshop today. I like this tea. Would make a great everyday drinker. Mild, smooth and pleasant, and doesn't taste wet, even with the storage.

I am in agreement. Sometimes I won't touch a new one for a month and sometimes a year. I guess it depends on my initial impression. Shou for sure a year after I buy it and it arrives. I agree, and I think getting air and humidity helps too. I thought the brick was ruined from Kunming storage..it's actually excellent. Gonna pick up ten more! Yes I like 7581!

I think giving tea adjustment time is so important. I knew it was important, but I keep seeing that it can make the difference between a ho-hum experience and a great experience. This morning I brewed a 2006 Fuhai 7576. Three months ago when I first received it from China it didn't taste very good. I thought maybe I got an off cake as I'd had it before.
