Wonderful Cory!
Yes - beautiful mikomi!
I am reminded of a lake and sky and maybe hints of small islands out on the lake.
Lovely.

humble thanks seeker ! CHEERS !
i made one for my mom in law
kiseto w/ a oribe accent on shomen
paul at the studio suggested i drop the chawan into the special 'bath' to possibly brighten the oribe to bright green.
here's today's tea, before 'the bath'
will photograph the chawan after next week to see how it changed.
cheers !

That's gorgeous Cory! I'm excited to see it after its bath.
I'll share a new chawan today too.
A new Kuro Tetsu chawan by Robert Fornell.
Warming...

Rub some lemon or lime juice on the Oribe and let it sit overnight.... should clear that dull surface......

Best,

Thank you Stentor, Rob.
The kuro was not today's matcha wan, so I'll be sure to get a matcha shot out soon.
Today's wan was the other wan I got from Rob - a tengu and it's a big one.
Probably holds close to 32oz or .9L!
(Ok, just measured and it's 27oz/800ml)
warming: matcha! koudai:

Here's a couple of shots of the kuro tetsu chawan with matcha as requested.
Two different light environs, 1st is natural window & 2nd fluorescent.
Still getting used to the new cam.
Natural: Fluorescent: I think the natural window light shows the chawan better, and the fluorescent shows the matcha better.
Cheers.

Re: Today's MatchaWan :D (new name, but tea's the same)
I realized that the (much too large) bag of matcha I had purchased back in June is getting close to its "best buy" date, and pulled out a chawan. I didn't get any pictures of the matcha, but I did get some nice shots of the chawan after I realized it's a sunny day.
This chawan's called "Footprints in Snow" and was made by TSUCHIKARA POTTERY. I finally managed to capture some of its hidden colors.

In the process of saving up for a new Chawan, but I again have matcha in stock, so photos of Ippodo's Nodoka matcha.
