Fo Shou Wuyi rock oolong. It has a really pleasant and lingering taste. Spicy and with an aroma of chocolate and fruits.

I'm drinking a wonderful Rougui Wulong from Wuyishan. It is medium to heavy roasted and has a beautiful flavor and aroma. I am a big fan of this. I just found it yesterday and it's going to be a staple I think.

Haha, wrong thread!Chip wrote:... isn't this green?rabbit wrote:Had a wonderful cup of Taiping houkui. It made me happy.I never heard of an oolong Taiping Hou Kui.

On that note I had some more high roast 11y/o tgy yesterday... it was def. much better after letting it breath for a bit.

TGY from Dragon Tea House. It's okay.. brewing western style and the first brew was good and the second seemed a little flat.

Hwang Cha from Hankook, a lovely 'oolong' tea with good persistence through many infusions, shading towards but rarely reaching the 'sweet water' point where I stop infusing.
Re: What Oolong are You Drinking Right Now?
Earlier I had the last of the TGY OTTI, grade 5. Not bad, it's decently oxidized which I'm not sure if I like or dislike.
Currently brewing up some Wuyi that is really hitting the spot. It seems that Wuyi is the bubbliest of Oolongs; I have no idea why.

Ok, so this is from yesterday and earlier today, but close enough.
Another "new old stock" type find from the same place I got the Sea Dyke Rougui and Qianlixiang. "Golden Sail" brand TGY, from the Shantou branch of CNNP, in surprisingly heavy gift tins. Not sure of an exact date, but seems like probably 90s or early 2000s. I hear these haven't been made for a while; can't find much about them online, but don't look
The jars were sealed in plastic, and the big ones have a double-lid (pictured). The tea is not high-fire, but also not like a modern green style TGY - the red edges are intact, the tea leaves are fairly soft and delicate, and it has a golden color and honey taste / fragrance.
I'll try to take some better pictures in natural light.

I would buy these even if they contained Teavana oolong, very cool! Of course, if the tea is good, that is a big bonus!
How much?

Jin Jiang ("Gold Medal") Mi Lan Xiang Dan Cong from my local Seven Cups store. Soooooo good. Really strong fruity flavors, peach and strawberry mostly. Pleasing pinkish liquor too
Earlier, Lao Cong Shui Xian from the same Seven Cups. Much much heavier roast than I expected, I wasn't a fan
