I'm gonna wager that one isn't destined to be such a hot seller in the West...
It's the Pu of the Beast...!!
You know, that reminds me when Arby's used to run their "5 for $5.55" deal on sandwiches, my friend and I used to joke they should run "6 for $6.66" and change their slogan to "Look for the sign of the roast
beast"...

Well...
We're nerds here. Some people are obviously ex, or *gasp*, current goths.
666 of dark, sultry, and husky sheng will suit plenty of people fine, especially those in the North!

I was wondering also why would they want to choose such number. 666 reminds me of this movie

Oh I hadn't thought of that!
6 is considered a very good number in China. 8 and 9 are even better numbers. But I guess it's not as convenient to make 888g or 999g

666 was Dayi's 66th anniversary.Thats why they made many tea that year that was called 66 and 666g or 660g.The smaller version of the 666g is 366g.

*sigh* so awesome... thanks for sharing all fo the photos, auhckw!
I keep wishing that we had (more) resources like that here in the US... or at least, there's certainly nothing like that close to me. But then again, if we did have more stuff like that, I guess I would be even more broke...!

I have a nearby teashop with a puerh section that is probably only a quarter or a sixth of what is shown in these images, but still a substantial supply. But trying to get information about what is on the shelves beyond what I can recognize on the wrapper is nearly impossible with the language barrier between me and the staff. So....after a couple of attempts with variable success (letting them recommend a mid-price beeng, and buying a couple of interesting looking beengs for a moderate price to try 'blind'), I mostly gave up and order off the internet from suppliers who give me more detailed descriptions. I suspect they do have some hidden treasures, but despite being right in front of me, they're still not truly accessible. Sigh.

There are plenty of such shops like the above here. Some more / Some lesser stocks. But quite a lot of them. A luxury for us but like you said, can get broke easily

Another advantage for us here is, as long they have opened sample (which they most likely have), you can just pick and taste for free which is why sometimes when we have tea marathon at a teashop, we can drink more than 10 types of tea in one day.
The shop above has a lot of small factories tea. When people said why I rarely try non dayi, the reason is simple. Look at how many are there, it will take agessssss and this is just one shop.
I will try to post photos from some other teashops progressively with their permission
