You too Geek? Unfortunately I broke mine on the office floor. My first piece of broken teaware - so lots of firsts here.
As Chip says, right, no leaks! But sometimes small sweat beads (which is actually very cool) or a bit of moisture from the foot ring. This is really an excellent first piece and at a great price too.

At first I was reluctant to share my choice with you, because I saw all that fantastic HAGI cups, that probably cost you a fortune...but now, that I see some of you also started with this cup, I am even more satisfied with my purchase...I hope it looks so fantastic as on this photo of you, geekgirl

Aww you don't have to worry, we all start somewhere.
Even if it's your only Hagi, it's really a great piece.
Enjoy!

Nice hagi Chesslover, Im sure you will love it. This was my first hagi too and still my favorite. No leaks, beautiful, great feel and the crackling is fantastic.

So I finally caved and bought my first piece of Hagi.

I figured I'd go with something cheap-ish so I got one of the Deishi yunomi that I've seen around here.
And.... I love it! It feels really great in the hand, and has wayyy more detail than you could see in the photos at Artistic Nippon.

Here you can see a drip that I love on the right side.
Photos don't do it justice.

Very nice nickE! A nice white like that is next on my hagi want list. I am trying to hold back though, been spending too much tea money lately.
Helps to get to see everyone else's new wares!

Ah yes ... like a first love. And rarely is your first love your last.

Seems Deishi white is first love for many. Likewise! I will try to post them (it was a set of two) later.

Beautiful shot nickE! As I said before that was my first piece too.
Nice to have it documented in its pristine new condition,
soon you will see the crackling. It's a cool effect.
Congrats!
