Beautiful CZ Ms B!
I stumbled across a very interesting video of a master wheel potter crafting a teapot of the same style as our CZs: http://www.sevencups.com/2009/07/2009-o ... i-teaware/
What skill!

Hi all,
Between my granny's things I found this Italian traditional Dragon design vessel:

It was not made for tea, but for my yixing fits perfectly:

As promised, two rather bad pictures of my kyuusu:
Pours well, most of the leaves stay on the bottom, too. =)
Bought from Les Jardins de Gaïa but is apparently part of Keiko-Tee's catalogue so should be available from elsewhere as well. 240 ml capacity. Pours well, most of the leaves stay on the bottom, too. =)

Great pieces as always, everyone!
Olivier, is that new or "Pre-Loved?"

I don't know where to find new ones (at least from a non exclusively Japanese speaking store) and I wouldn't be able to make one although it doesn't look to be too difficult for somebody with reasonable skills.

Thanks Olivier! After looking closer I could see the pre-loving! Really a nice one.
The wide opening will make clean up a breeze too.
This will serve you well!sriracha wrote:As promised, two rather bad pictures of my kyuusu:

Looks good, thanks for the update - I have to pass this time round - I am broke having just spent $250 on maps for a French Walking holiday in SeptemberMs Kita B wrote:Since I've been drinking a lot of dan congs as of late I decided to jump on the chao zhou wagon to see if it will make a difference. Have some great Da Wu Zi (thanks Imen!) that I would love to try with my new pot. Btw Imen just added teapots to the site. I purchased this minutes ago.
I also still have a couple of pots from Chen that I want for Dan Cong, they will have to wait until October - unless you and sal convince me to take the Chao Zhou route

And anyway, you took the one that caught my eye
An unusual shape, but that large opening looks great for long leafed dan Cong
I see she only stocks one of each, maybe if they sell well she will get more!

oliverco, I've never handled one of these: how does the cover/door stay secure? Is it just really well fitted?

I must admit I've never seen anything like olivierco's last bit of ware...what is it..? =)
Re: Show Off Your Pots and Cups XI
It is a box intended to store a tea ceremony set.sriracha wrote:I must admit I've never seen anything like olivierco's last bit of ware...what is it..? =)
There is a stand for the chasen (whisk)

Here is a picture of a similar box.
I might have some difficulties to clearly explain it. For the cover door, if you look closely the second picture of my first post, there is a groove (I hope it is the correct term) in the wood where the bottom of the door stands. There is another groove at the top, slightly deeper so that when you close the box you place the door all the way in the upper groove and then place it in the lower groove.pb2q wrote:oliverco, I've never handled one of these: how does the cover/door stay secure? Anyway it fits really well.
