They were found in a metal cup. Those are rust stains. They were murder to get off. They are blue and white porcelain.

I didn't realize that, during the Qing dynasty, China was producing handled mugs like the one in the top left. It seems like something destined for export.

That one is late Republican Period. Not everything dates to the Qing Dynasty. There are a few Republican Period pieces in there too. It is not an export piece though.

Thanks Chip. My problem is that I honestly have no place to display my new cups. Any suggestions? I am thinking I might have to pack some away. I hate to do it, but I am thinking I have no choice. When I bought my house a few years ago, I built floor to ceiling shelving in the vault and thought it would give me years of space, but after unpacking, I found they were filled. So much for that idea.

Thanks for the very generous offer, but I think I will try to find a way to do it here.
Does anybody have any suggestions? I thought about making a set of pull-out drawers, but again, it would take a lot of drawers and I would probably still be out of space when I filled them.

- even museums store a large portion of their collections. but that makes taking the pieces out to be seen after have been in storage all the more precious. good luck with your plans. will there be a TC member discount to enter?

You could try finding a printer's type tray... that could be shipped to you? Like this:

I'm not actually sure if the holes are the right size (or close), but maybe? I've been coveting one for a long time, but I've no idea what to display in one.

A type tray is a good idea, but I do not think you realize the quantity I am talking here. Let's just say I am talking about a LOT of cups.
I do try to keep things put away unless I am going to use them. I used to try to keep everything displayed in my tea room, but that got to be crazy and I figured it would be more fun to keep things put away and bring them out for use. I also find that if a piece is kept out all the time, you just get used to seeing it and it loses a bit of its specialness. Now, when I pull out a piece it is like seeing something new and I enjoy it far more. I keep things stored in the vault, but it is pretty much filled now and I only bought the house three years ago.

Not sure how old this is, but I'm guessing by the box that it qualifies as an antique? (by decades, not centuries). Is anyone familiar with these types of cups? it's tiny, it only holds one ounce! Not the usual type of tea-ware I like to collect, but it did catch my eye.
