Tonight, some Tie Guan Yin in a Seong Il pot and a Greenwood Studios cup that goes particularly well with this little pot--it's quite perfectly sized.

Better late than never ... today's tea.

Teapot: 60 ml porcelain with shino glaze by Hong Seong-Il (what can I say? I love his work ...)
Teacup: Jingedezhen porcelain
Tea: a new indulgence--White Antler tea from Malawi, Africa by way of Phoenix Tea. An amazing 'twig' white with a surprisingly champagne-like edge on the tongue.

A particularly harmonious group at work today:

Deishi hagi cup
Petr Novak kyusu and yuzamashi
and some nice deep roasted oolongs (ends of 2 samples, mixed) from Norbu. Mmm, tea happiness!

I love that Deishi cup--I've been eyeing his work for awhile, but sadly, every piece I've fallen in love with rapidly goes out of my price range ...

Just keep scouting the internets.....I got these for a very reasonable price, and Mago's had pairs of smaller cups like these several times in the past year.

Re: NEW! Official Teaware of the Day!
I have been enjoying everyone's Teawarez of the Dayz! Thank you all for sharing.
Then there is are "the pairs" like Mago sells which are larger and represent my first ever Hagi purchase (I think). Then Deishi made a larger run for a Hagi SO. And lastly Chawan size. So, I have purchased 4 sizes ... just not the Chawan.
I guess I quite like the shape and white.
Also today, Touju hobnail (clay) kyusu (more photos under Ode to Kyusu topic.

Deishi makes these in numerous sizes as well ... since you asked about debunix's Deishi Shiro Wan, I figured I would use and share Guinomi size of the same shape/straw-ash glaze. I have purchased pairs of two sizes of these Guinomi, very small and these which are really perfectly sized.hopeofdawn wrote:I love that Deishi cup--I've been eyeing his work for awhile, but sadly, every piece I've fallen in love with rapidly goes out of my price range ...

Why not, Gyokuro served in the smallest size Guinomi. Kashun Houhin. All Shira but quite different.

Bizen Houhin takes center stage. Seong-Il cup steps in for Gyokuro.
