I'd love a chance to get a TC special with the wonderful golden finish of Maekawa Junzo....(made the mistake of going to Artistic Nippon Tokoname page 'just to check the spelling', lost self for a while, so many lovely and distinctive style, snapped self out of it by starting some nice An Ji Bai Cha in a leafy Tokoname kyusu).....Tokoname dreaming.
Re: Like a phoenix ...
Two guesses:
Shoryu - his pots are awesome and in a lower price range for handmade pots. I like them a lot!
Something from the Shofu kiln, which stopped producing a few years ago. If the clues are about a kiln 'rising from the ashes' perhaps there are some works from this kiln that are available?
I found that information from here, TjD: http://www.thes-du-japon.com/index.php? ... cts_id=252

Chip - can you say when you will share the news? I'm in the market for a new kyusu and I would hate to miss a good opportunity because I'm away from the forums and miss the announcement.
Thanks!
P.S. Oh, and I'm too new to have a guess

This could happen pretty quickly, within the upcoming week. But as I mentioned, there will be a 3 day official notice prior to going live.
Re: Like a phoenix ...
Hold on, how do I set up text message alerts when stuff like this starts coming out again?
I've been having a lot of tea lately, and dare I say might need to spice it up with a new piece of potter?

Re: Like a phoenix ...
Not that I can work it into the clues but my first thought for Tokoname was Kenji. Probably because he made my first teapot, a purchase which was influenced by Chip's glowing praise http://www.teachat.com/viewtopic.php?p=87071#p87071

Yes, still love that Kenji!
Hopefully I might influence you on your next Kyusu purchase!

It did not arrive here ...Alex wrote:
Hang in there, working on getting all the necessary info in hand.
But also look for more clues to who it is.
