I'm so excited! The kyusu I ordered from Ippodo is here. My very first kyusu. :) Something about the color and no-frills design appeals to me. It's also one of the smaller ones I found, 240 ml. The color is most accurate in the second picture (I'm working with a point-and-shoot and the flash throws off the color).

Oh, I really like this one! btw, you can order direct from tokoname 2009 catalog at:

If you can't find what you want in the catalog it is possible to email them with a picture of one you like and they can tell you what catalog number to order.

Nice. I like the simple style of that one too.

My newest acquisitions. Found them at an oriental store by my house. I particularly like the cup on the right, its iron.

I'm glad I opted out of buying my first gaiwan online, because this one only cost me $6.

WOW, that is a really beautiful kyusu! I have not seen a speckled one like this in a tokoname.
It reminds me of Yixing! Congrats to you.

My newbies, yeah posted elsewhere today, but I am a proud daddy!
Chawan #1, "Aurora Blue HAGI WARE" by Yamane Seigan, arrived from Japan yesterday.
I love it. My first Hagi piece. It is so cosmic, celestial. I am flying through space every time I gaze into it ...

... and I see something new everytime I look at it, this came with a (purely accidental) "visitor" from afar if you look closely ... ? See it???
