It all began with the center two, very inexpensive. And love the shape. They are the Deishi white wan (bowl) version of the recently posted Yunomi-s. (sorry for the lousy phone photo). Actually used them today all day.

soon you will see the crackling. It's a cool effect.
It's happening now :!: :D :!:

It is pretty cool. I would try to take a pic but my cheap digicam doesn't like focusing on closeups

How cool nickE! My one and only hagi did not start to show any changes until recently (have had it a few months). One day I finished my tea and noticed the crackling at the bottom was started to darken. Lots of fun!

Ok so I bought a few new Hagi pieces from ebay. The first of which Adam tipped me off to, which is a heart shaped yunomi. Or it may even be a small yuzamashi. I collect heart shaped items since Hartley is a family name. My cousins and I have quite a collection. So I was excited to add a heart shaped piece of Hagi to my collection.

The vendor pic was more inciting, but still it's a sweet piece.

Wow, Victoria, I adore the color on those - vibrant and dark at the same time... I really don't know that I'd use anything else if I had that  so it's probably best I don't. But can drool over it nonetheless whenever you decide to post pics of it

That is a great vase, Adam! Who made it? (I know you mentioned this already but cannot remember)

Victoria, I am thinking Yuzamashi as well on the heart shaped "cup." Odd the seller was calling it a cup as I recall. Seigan makes this yuzamashi, though I never saw it sold separately.

Chip,
I am unsure of the actual artist, all I know is it was made at the Toraku Kiln. It is rather interesting every time I look at it I get a different impression of it.

Geek I hope the seller comes out with more Hagi Vases similar to this, but the seller was one of those more assorted pieces of Japanese origin. I see a lot of interesting hagi ware becuase I (alright I'll reveal my secret) have a google reader thread that lets me know when ever a new piece labeled Hagi gets posted to ebay.
