Dayi 2010 70th Anniversary Raw - Been hunting high and low for a local store to sell this but couldn't fing. Today managed to find it in Tea expo and made myself to buy this overpriced and highly sought after tea. It has raised 3x the price within 1 year. This tea is good but I think overated.

Dayi 2006 v93 250g Raw - Yes, it is Raw. Dayi only released Raw once together with the Ripe version. In year 2006 the Ripe was more popular then, and this Raw was not even looked at. Only recently people started to taste it and found that it has turned out well and shows potential. As usual, I missed the opportunity and couldn't find. I have samnpled it but coulnd't find anyone selling. But not any more :)

When it is just out here, it cost RM45 (USD14)...
3 months later, it cost RM90 (USD29)...

and after clouds review... now RM120 (USD38)... all this about 9 months only

Taste wise... it is not worth what it is priced now.

This means DTH haven't marked up much (US $45, only by $7) which is small amount in Western standard.

How much is the 2006 v93 raw tuo?

Here people are speculating. That is the only Dayi in y2010 that is that speculated. Clouds has reviewed it in a way that it sounded so good. Future 88 ching beeng taste, Original 7542 taste blah blah blah...

I bought/collected V93 Raw from a private collector today at the expo. I am not supposed to reveal the price openly, but it is much much cheaper > http://cgi.ebay.com/V93-Qing-Tuo-Cha-Me ... 35a4dbd384

Thank to let me 'know'. I paid ~$24 for 2006 raw v93, but that was in 2009. IMO, it tastes better than 2008 8582, 2009 7542 or 2008 Qing Tuo.

After I tried the 2001 Mengku YYX, I think I would follow my own tasting experience than what 'Cloud' said. I know this is a bit controversial, but after all, Cloud is selling tea and he must have a vested interest and I would rather to have my own opinion.

Suddenly, I find myself agreeing with Dr MarshalN!

V93 raw for its price we are getting here is worth what it should be and it has potential for aging. Anyway...

Let me share this experience with my little encounter on v93 raw .

I was at my friend's place trying to sample the v93 raw. The sample was kept at the stairs where there is good air flow. He kept the sample in it's normal wrapper and left it since years ago among his other tea. It was not touched till I dig it out.

When we brew it, there is not much taste. Flat. Taste like grass. Don't have the Menghai/Dayi.

We were suspecting it is fake, so I left. He then called me saying he has experience before that if he leaves a pu in its original wrapping in a good air flow place, the pu will loose its taste. So he said he has another v93 sample kept in the box.

We tried the v93 which is from the box and tasted right.

Lesson learned: Don't keep your pu long term in its wrapper and leave it just like that on a shelf with air flow. It may loose it taste.

"it has potential for aging"
that's right. but it needs high leaf ratio in my opinion

"Don't keep your pu long term in its wrapper"
thanks for this advice/experience, I've always wondered if it was bad or not

Partially because this thread has been dominated by Menghai products, but also because I'm excited...these arrived yesterday!

What's that 2010 EoT you got? And which one you're going to try first?

Edit: I see, it's a Bangwai.

Yeah, the Bangwai was my favorite of the three 2010's that I tried.

Not sure which I'm going to dig into...probably the 2011 Nannuo or Bulang. I want to sit on the Mannuo a bit.
