Re: The unofficial/official HAGI topic!
Ha! it's not that big of a secret... I have a couple of reader feeds like that, just books though, that I'm always on the lookout for. I'm a little afraid to make a hagi feed.

Re: The unofficial/official HAGI topic!
I know its not a big secret, but you would be amazed how many people do not even really know about google reader or any other RSS aggregator. But I've found that they keep you in the know far to easily, and sometimes let know know to much.Victoria wrote:Thanks Chip. Nice vase Adam.

A nice pair of Mukuhara Kashun Wan. There is a little gohonde thing going on ... regardless, they are quite different from any other Hagi here in size, shape, coloring ...

Brandon, any info you can share with us?
Victoria, thanks. The Kashuns are a bit larger than anticipated, holding 9 ounces to the rim or 6-7 comfortably. I usually do 5 ounce steeps wich works fine. They are all but 4" wide.

Re: The unofficial/official HAGI topic!
I would recommend reading the Hagi topic regarding a questionable ebay seller here:
http://www.teachat.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=13488
And here is one of the pieces from the seller in question. Very hard to capture all the different elements of the glaze.
It is a Seigan Guinomi in a gold, wheat, opalescent glaze with abundant crackles. Quite nice, you be the judge. Seigan, yes or no? I say yes despite the unscrupulous boxing by the seller.
Golden yet not overpowering. There is detail that speaks Seigan

Fill 'er up ...

Even full however, the opalescence comes through.

That is a beautiful cup Chip. I will post mine too, although all 4 of mine are the more usual Seigan glazes. I have no doubt whatsoever mine are authentic. Yours looks it too.
Re: The unofficial/official HAGI topic!
Here is my sansai glaze yunomi. The glaze is unmistakably Seigan. It is a sweet cup!

Re: The unofficial/official HAGI topic!
That is a really different Seigan yunomi, Victoria. Looks like Seigan was experimenting a bit? What is the size? Thanks.
Re: The unofficial/official HAGI topic!
I misspoke - This piece is actually a guinomi. It holds about 2oz comfortably, and is 2.5" across and 2.5" tall.
