Wow, it does have a Monument Valley vibe. 'The Searchers' is by far my favorite John Ford/John Wayne collaboration. Great piece/pic, IPT!

Re: Today's MatchaWan :D (new name, but tea's the same)
Since today is the official "Use by" date for my packet of yuuki konjo, I've been trying to finish it up as quickly as possible. That means more matcha smoothies than traditional matcha, but I can still use my chawan, right?
Matcha banana smoothie in my Landry Deese chawan.
I promise I'll return to traditional tea ceremony after I receive my order of new matcha.

Great shot Saladin, hope you had an awesome bike ride!

That's just beautiful Ambrose!
The green of the matcha is so vivid against your vintage chawan's darkness.
And I love it when foam collects and resides on the chasen.
Both circles of tines on my chasen have opened such that I never get the foam residual on mine anymore - so it is a real delight to see yours.
Thank you.

Re: Today's MatchaWan :D (new name, but tea's the same)
I just got back from a cold, wet, 40 mile bike ride (what was I thinking) and decided to revive myself with a bowl of green tea and some macaroons my girlfriend made. Much better now

Looks like serious yumminess Saladin!
Uber Cool chawan!
And... I LOVE END OF SESSION FOAM!
I think a matcha session after a cold cycling session is awesome, and oh so satisfying.
Hope you enjoyed it as much as I imagined you did.
Cheers.

I like to drink matcha early in the morning, but it is sometimes hard on my empty stomach. So I have to eat a cake with it... What a shame !

That looks great! If you're in France then you have some pretty fine cakes at your disposal. I'm a big proponent of eating dessert for breakfast..David R. wrote:I like to drink matcha early in the morning, but it is sometimes hard on my empty stomach. So I have to eat a cake with it... Seeker, thanks for the kind words. That bowl went down very quickly.

Nice looking session David!
Your matcha looks absolutely great in that shot - and what a great chawan!
The matcha and chawan compliment each other perfectly - the matcha looking almost forest-y in its rich green-ness, and the bubbles and bumps making a great counterpoint together.
And I just love matcha with cake or mochi or something with a bit of sweetness.
Yumm.
Saladin - you are so welcome. And I thank you for sharing your matcha and chawan with us all.

Thanks a lot Seeker ! This chawan with all of its "inner bubbles" mimics the matcha very well. Its roughness seems to contribute making more foam.
Yes Saladin, can't complain about french cakes really, especially with a mum and grandmother like mine
This one was from a bakery. As a matter of fact, coconut was not the best match for matcha. I'll have to try all sorts of cakes I guess...
