[/quote]FengHuang DanCong gets its name from the major production area in the Wu Dong mountain plantations, Feng Huang county, Guang Dong. As a generic name, it actually covers at least three production area: Wu Dong of Feng Huang, Lin Tou of Pin Xi, and Da-Zhi mountain of Shi-Gu-Pin village. Because of the difference in microclimate and cultivars in those neighboring plantations, they are have their own unique focus and characters.
Guang
exactly, Lin Tou is a distinct area, I seem to remember it is the name of a village.
shi gu ping (as name of a tea) is not a dan cong, it is a wulong (I think it is from a bush, the history of which I don't know). It holds its name from the location (shi gu ping village). It is possible that in shi gu ping area dan cong is also produced, but I have never heard of any, I would think they don't grow dan cong in that area.
if you see "ling tou dan cong", don't get confused : it is not "lin tou", ling tou is the other name of bai ye dan cong.
