No, I got a set of 6, 2 oz samplers from Teavana for Christmas, so I am trying to use them up slowly but surely.brlarson wrote:Whoa... did you run out of tea???AdamMY wrote:Teavana Clouds and Mist.

Wu Niu Zao from Norbu again today. I'm taking a little break from sencha after finishing off the most recent batch. Still plenty to get me through until shincha, though. The Wu Niu Zao is a very mellow sweet green, quite lovely for a quiet day at home.

Ippodo Kanro Gyokuro, purchased at their shop on Sunday. Also had a bowl of their top grade koicha at the site. Quite good. That's quite a nice shop they have.
Yes, I will purchase and drink my competitor's teas - so long as I respect them, lol.

Which of course raises the question "Which competitors do you respect?"Kevangogh wrote:Yes, I will purchase and drink my competitor's teas - so long as I respect them, lol.

In my cup this morning - Premium Huang Shan Mao Feng from Seven Cups. Much better today than yesterday after tweaks to brewing parameters. Time to open the little bag of Imperial Huang Shan Mao Feng (handmade) that I purchased at the same time and do a comparison. I purchased a second glass gaiwan for just such an occasion.
I'm nursing a cold so I followed up with some Tai Mu Lu Xue La from Jing, as well as a session with Tsuen Sencha Otsuusan from O-Cha, my current favorite green.

Had more 2011 Kiwami shincha this morning in a new hobin.
Now I'm down to 460g of shincha and 210g of temomi- and sencha from 2011, and I've already given away a few bags. I'll just have to drink faster!

Prelim tastings of Zencha's Kagoshima line-up for OTTI 12! I cannot say anything revealing here ... but always exciting to try new teas from a reputable vendor such as Zencha!

Re: Official what GREEN are you currently drinking?
I'm experimenting with high leaf ratio Yame sencha infusions, making it really thick brew. Drinking with small sips and enjoying how aftertaste changing with time, going from bitter to really sweet.
Seems it's time to get a shiboridashi after all, my small kyusu is not small enough

Re: Official what GREEN are you currently drinking?
back to the miyazaki haru bancha at work
water is still boiling and already I am feeling satisfied
Leaves are starting to turn noticeably yellowish (at least compared to the last batch I got earlier this year) yet the outcome in my cup is still great, maybe a little sweeter too now. It's odd, this tea. Odd in such a good way. I reach for this time and time again over the Tokujo Kamairicha (which by the way is also very good) and the other selection of organic greens I have. This one has it for me. It also just happens to be $5/50g
Such a gentle one, soothes me, slows me down and reminds me of how fine and balanced nature can be. Yesterday I mixed this with Kamairicha Okumidori and while it was nice, I prefer todays cup, unadulterated and beckoning me to drink it with great delight.
The kyobancha is back in stock. Also very good in its own right. I like to pack teapot relatively full then go for about 4 very satisfying infusions.
Also an excellent base for blending things. Chrysanthemum, Chamomile, etc etc. Works so well by adding the layer of roasted bancha but never overpowering or being overpowered by the add ons.
