skua . beautiful chawan ! i agree. some of the wilder pieces i make, high risk in making and firing tend to be my keepers.
i find the standard colors of tenmoku (black/brown), kuro (black) and white make wonderful contrasts with the finely ground green matcha powder.

Technically, Cory's posting of a chawan for sale on the general forum is both a general Forum and a TeawareArtisan rules violation. However ...Seeker wrote:That's a beautiful one Cory!

Today's matcha and chawan...
Chawan by Matt Brown (Moss Beach ceramics),
matcha is ippodo's horai. My apologies for not posting much lately - but it is do to my difficult relationship with my new camera. My last one came down with a stuck shutter, so I had to get a new one. And this new one distorts macro shots, and I can't seem to get the color balance right unless I'm using daylight (and my typical place to shoot my matcha shots is in the kitchen where there is a mixture of tunsgten and flourescent lighting).
Happy Sunday!
Cheers!

Seeker, I can relate to the camera issues and the indoor lighting only as well! Now I have a virus stricken computer that will not currently allow me to load photos from any camera.
Still you do a great job, Seeker. I don't think I ever noticed, this is a butcher block table?
Although I do not post photos here much, I always check out the topic! Thanks everyone for sharing!

Beautiful contrast of the red table with the green matcha.... the whisk almost looks red, too...??
Re: Today's MatchaWan :D (new name, but tea's the same)

Both the butcher block and the chasen are a rich brown (with the butcher block being a bit more reddish brown, and the chasen being brown brown - same chasen Victoria has from Yuuki-cha).
sigh... the camera issues.
