Non Roasted... Autumn harvest
Tie Guan Yin - 100g

The tea leaves is actually from a big bag pack which the seller puts it into this smaller pack and tin box

Expended a lot...

Warm Soy Sauce. Care for some Brandon?
Re: What Oolong are You Drinking Right Now?
I am not sure which version is it... forgot to askbrandon wrote: Taiwanese version? Do not usually see this production style in Anxi.

I hardly drink oolong but is it common to have so many stem in it?
They were giving discount on it cause new harvest coming and they wanted to clear the stock. 100g for RM33 (USD10). Previously 100g for RM50 (USD16). Bought this for office mass production tea.
Re: What Oolong are You Drinking Right Now?
I think the stems are more common in Taiwanese oolongs, like Dong-Ding. That may have been why Brandon suggested that. Am I right?auhckw wrote:I am not sure which version is it... forgot to askbrandon wrote: Taiwanese version? Anxi Tie Guan Yin is rolled with 1 single leaf.
roasted and unroasted anxi. click for bigness.
Taiwan oolong is rolled with two leaves, one bud, and the stem intact.
Yours has a lot more stem left on than is usually the case, though.

Some more "artistic" Taiwan rolled oolong.

Re: What Oolong are You Drinking Right Now?
'90s aged baozhong from FLT.
I think this one will be incredible with some more rest. It's a little roasty with strong fruit and floral notes. The liquor is a reddish amber. The steeped leaves have a nice, worn-in quality -- like your favorite pair of jeans, or an old baseball glove. It may not be quite as mellow as it looks, but I think a little rest would make this great tea outstanding.
I don't have the experience to know exactly how much more age would be good without having to re-roast it. A few months? A few more years?

I started a session with this tea last evening (european time) and finishing it right now with very long brews.NOESIS wrote:TeaMasters 2008 dark roast TGY
I think I preferred the 2005 version but this is a great tea nonetheless.
