Great postings/matcha pics Cory, Nenugal, Tobias! Thank you!

May each of you be well,
May you be safe,
May you be happy.

(Careful what you wish for T, I got a new camera and really don't like my shots much lately - sigh :? )

Inspired by GeekGirl today, so took some matcha shots this morning.
The first two shots are in the kitchen where there is a mix of flourescent, incandescent, and very diffused sunlight.
(click on any shot for full size)

The color of the matcha in the shot made the camera change the temperature of the shot:

The final shot is natural sunlight only.

The chawan is by Landry Deese.
Cheers.

See now you have me wanting to play around with WB. :) I even got out my little point and shoot (which I never use because I'm spoiled by manual shooting.)

I had taken my matcha-making equipment into work so that I could enjoy it with co-workers. This long weekend, I brought it home...! I was hoping to get lucky in the timing of a new chawan, but it was not meant to be. Instead, I enjoyed matcha in the Ice Split that I got from Abracadavre... it's pretty a little tight for the whisk... or maybe that's "just right"...?

And I gobbled up the kaoru supreme pretty quickly....!!

Your 'Ice Split' is a beaut Drax.
But how'd you whisk - by spinning your chasen?
Cheers.

Thanks, Seeker!

It was definitely tight. I did smack against the sides of the 'chawan' a lot, but fortunately, a chasen is moderately flexible...

Brand new chawan, so I wanted to share my very first matcha picture-taking session with everyone ...

Image

And a more distant shot to show off more of the chawan's form ...

This chawan is by Reid Ozaki, a local ceramic artist, and is seriously amazing--I have more shots of the interior I plan to spam the main teaware topic with, but every time I pick this piece up I find something new I'd never noticed about it before ... It was an impulse buy, but I definitely don't regret it!

Wow, gorgeous Hope!
Thanks for sharing.
Great shots!
Makes me thirsty for Matcha!
(even tho I'm on a self imposed matcha break)
Cheers.

Wow, Hope! That's super gorgeous. I immediately tried to find out more about Mr. Ozaki and found his website.

I want! I wish I could find a place he sells his pieces online.

Oh, and I'm hungry for matcha.

I know! I went looking for more info on him as well--though sadly, I couldn't find anyplace he sells his work online either! :( Which is probably better for my budget, all things considered, but still ... If anyone is in the Seattle area, tho, I definitely recommend checking out his work at the Seattle Center craft gallery--I don't know how long it's down there, but there were some amazing chawan and other pieces left when I was there on Monday!
