1.2L of water isn't THAT heavy... about as much as a typical kettle.needaTEAcher wrote:Following the "general wisdom," about 60 grams?!?! It's not unrealistic to pop in a 100g tuo with quick steeps, though I think it would take some serious muscle to pour!

Wow Tim that's a beast! Put half a beeng of some 8582 in that baby haha! Just joking of course I only use my little 40 ml for teas of that caliber. Is that red teapot in the background one of those 50-60 ml Hong Ni Shui Pings that I saw you had a while ago? Just curious for size comparison with the Yellow Human Head (lol so creative with these names) and also about the clay because I love how shiny it looks I've only seen my Modern Zhu Ni pots with that much shine.TIM wrote:

I realize but to me any teapot in the 50-60 ml size is special to me because thats the only sizes I don't have in my Xiao Pin collection and the more I drink tea Gong Fu style, the more I realize that it's probably the most perfect size when it comes to not wasting tea but still allowing a decent amount of room for leaf expansion. I recently acquired a 60 ml Med. Fired Hong Ni Shui Ping but I think it's more like 45-50 ml. It's has been EXTREMELY difficult for me to acquire those two specific sizes to say the least. I greatly admire it as well as the rest of your collection!TIM wrote:Thanks ITImmortaliTEA wrote:Wow Tim that's a beast! Put half a beeng of some 8582 in that baby haha! Thank You IT for your kind words on my humble collection. I started out using 150 plus sizes 15 or more years ago. Slowly, I found the right spots on 40-60 ml for daily personal usage. Mainly due to finding higher and rarer tea consumption... The large pots for solo drinking no longer make sense.
Besides the price, they need so much more attention and thoughts while appreciating, collecting more smaller one makes it functional and more affordable in time and money wise. Also mainly because smaller ones are more mass product and easier to get better clay comparing to larger pots. Just my 2 cents

Okok, I know, I am supposed to show things I own here. But I just couldn't resist showing these badboys off, even if they aren't mine! One is 3.5 litres, and one is 4.5 litres. So huge!

OK, this one is mine.
This is my shining baby.
Qing Su Ni clay, entirely hand-made by Maste Sa Seok Myeong. Anyone heard of him? I have been spending a lot of time with his work, and I really like it. Medium-fired, medium walls, 13-hole filter. I don't remember the pour time, but it is very, very smooth. Something like 200 or 250cc.
I paired it with 15+ years seng pu.

You must have some serious cash allowance for "aged pu." Sweet Mary, mother of God and I thought my 100mL pot was already huge!

Lol, most of them are gifts I've received! And I only use it sparingly! Though I did buy a myself 60 grams of a 1997 iron cake.
