Re: Official what GREEN are you currently drinking?
After a lot of small-vessel gongfu sessions with puerhs and oolongs, I brewed up a large quantity of Kamairi Tamayokucha this evening, to drink from my Petr Novak chawan--big tea in a big cup.

Sae midori shincha, kagoshima, a cure for the pollen allergy symptom.
Re: Official what GREEN are you currently drinking?
Just returned from a trip - an 8 day tea fast. Broke the fast with Sencha Otsuusan from O-Cha. There are only 3 sessions remaining and then I have to wait until a new bag arrives with my shincha order.

I just ordered this tea last week. Do you have any good suggestions on brewing method? I only got 25g and don't want any to go to waste.etorix wrote:Xu Fu Long Ya from Teaspring

getting 25gm of anything is totally normal practice for me, or whatever 'sample' size is offeredLeo_Blue wrote:I just ordered this tea last week. Do you have any good suggestions on brewing method? I only got 25g and don't want any to go to waste.etorix wrote:Xu Fu Long Ya from Teaspring

first time i brewed Xu Fu Long Ya i used my normal-everyday-not-dedicated Yixing
but the tea felt 'shy' as if i wasnt getting the most from it
so this time i used a fancy RuKiln glazed gaiwan for the 1st time [iirc 160ml] so as to not have any added affects from a pot, but glass or any other glazed-vessel would do as well imho
i judge quantity of tea by eye, and steeptimes by feel, im generous with tea quantities tho .. and this tea keeps on giving
it went many steeps over 2 days and well into a 3rd before the times got a bit too long, but it could go longer

2012 Bi Luo Chun from Teamasters
see http://teamasters.blogspot.co.uk/2005/0 ... aiwan.html and also http://teamasters.blogspot.co.uk/2009/0 ... un-of.html for some backstory, and now i wish id read all the above pre-brew [instead of after]
but i like tea to speak for itself
and this is the 2012 .. the unfurled wet leaves seem quite small with bits missing from the edges, and it needs more of it in the gaiwan next session

Sayamakaori sencha from Yuuki-cha, mmmm. New pouch, newly sweet, vegetal, precious.

So nice to come back to it after a long time away....
