Well, more like slamming my fist on the TeaTable, demanding change from the domestic tea industry that refuses to listen to reason.

My Yutaka Midori is in da house. Yee ha. For those concerned, there was no shipping confirmation from O-Cha. I'm afraid the open bag of eBay YM that I have isn't going to get much attention now!

Received my Yutaka Midori on Saturday. Had fun tasting this yesterday morning. Was too late in the day Saturday for caffeine when it arrived.

Shincha has landed in Colorado! My box of Sae Midori and Yutaka Midori from O-Cha arrived today. My first O-Cha order, and my first shincha season. Looking forward to breaking into one of those bags tomorrow morning! Just have to decide which one ...
Quick question for you O-Cha veterans -- are the O-Cha bags ok to store in the refrigerator as-is? They feel almost fiberous (like paper or cloth) and I'm not sure if they're moisture-proof.

Yeah, should be fine, but I tend to put them in a zip lock to prevent moisture from condensation. Likely an uneeded precaution, but it doesn't hurt either.

That would be great if you have plans on brewing Shin-Kombucha!
You are welcome, and the bags are foil lined btw.

Thanks all! I opened the Sae Midori this morning, and as you all noted, the bags are refrigerator safe. The YM is now resting quietly in the fridge.

I have recieved my order from o-cha, Saemidori, Kirameki, I have high hopes from the Kirameki, last year I haven`t tried it, but this year, beeing a proud owner of a tetsubin I feel worthy of spoiling myself with a goodie. I am planing on ordering aditional shincha`s but the currency exchange rates are really bad for JPY, but for USD is more acceptable (these currency fluctuations are cause by he volcanic erruption on Iceland, because of the air traffic restriction, it is bad for bussiness), so I am planing to order from Yuukicha instead of Maiko.
P.S. I would like some suggestion, what teas to try in shincha version from Yuukicha?

Hey Oni,
I know a few of us are excited to try some of the new Asa ..in particular, the Tenryu Misakubo, this year. I have high hopes for this one! Yuuki has quite a few New Asa's so personally I got the Misakubo and also went for the Sayamakaori ( another Asa)
last year I had both the Magokoro and the Kumamoto Yabe Supreme. Both quite decent in my opinion.

This year O-Cha's Hatsumi will be 100% yabukita. The Tenryu from Yuuki-Cha is also 100% yabukita.
It will be interesting to taste the difference between a mid-deep steamed tea as opposed to an asamushi when they are both the same breed and both from Shizuoka.

First, let me say hi to everyone, i'm a new member and this is my first post on the forum.
if you are ready to order more than one shincha from Yuukicha, then Sayamakaori and Kanayamidori might form an interesting pair : Sayamakaori is announced to be on the sweet and (faintly) floral side, the latter on a more fruity register. each seems to go with specific mouthfeel.
