2006 Zei Shi from Tea Habitat
Lovely tea.
Yesterday someone was dissing Imen's teas. Well the proof is in the brew.
On my third session over four days. The beginning of session #3 brewed as good as #1. Going for super short steeping has worked well.

The newest batch of Li Shan at FLT. This one is definitely more floral than the last, but still has substantial body and mouthfeel -- which is what I liked so much about the previous batch. This one also seems to last a bit longer, but I used a lot of leaf in my first session, perhaps more than I usually do.

In the later steepings, the tea became incredibly sweet with nice hui gan continuing well beyond 10+ steeps.

The leaves are in excellent condition too, better than the last batch, though I don't think that factors too heavily in tea quality.

All in all, I'd say if you liked the last batch of winter 2010 li shan, you will definitely like this one. I'm glad I was able to get some more. Such an excellent tea in hot weather!

Today I'm drinking Da Hong Pao from Teasatia.com. I just love these darker oolongs!

I'm having an aged Rou Gui from a generous Teavangelist.

Ho! Bet that one hasn't been used before!

Dumb puns aside, this is interesting. The aroma is as enticing as any I've had. The brew was a bit astringent, with an underlying sweetness coming in and out. Nice lingering and lubricating sweetness in the throat.

4 Seasons and 2005 Muzha TGY from Shuiwen today.

I was reading some folks dislike the 2010 teas? I was really looking forward to the DYL I have stashed. Boo Hoo...

NO! I don't believe anyone said they disliked ALL 2010 teas. If they did, they be trippin'. There was a thread about not liking the "farmer's choice" baozhong -- one of three 2010 baozhongs offered from the same vendor -- but the Da Yu Ling and Li Shan were well received and I thought the Ali Shan was quite good also.

I'm happy to hear that, dear terrapin.

Have you also tried the ShanLinXi? Her 2008 version was my "aha!" moment for gaoshan oolong. I have some of the 2010 waiting for the dog days of summer.

I've loved every tea I've tried from Shiuwen, so I'm hoping my bag of 2010 FC Baozhong will be no different. I expect my low-brow palette will have no problems with it!

:D

I had better luck with it using less leaf. I had got into the habit of brewing baozhong with a ton of leaf, softly crunched in my gaiwan, and when I did this with the '10 FC BZ, it tasted like cheap soap. When I used less leaf it was better. It sure is hard to beat that price, and going by my experience with the same thing during previous years, I bought a bit more than I should've. It's not THAT bad, really. You can find a way to enjoy it. :D

Drinking now a free sample of premium Taiwan milk oloong from DTH and I´m very impressed. It´s my second oloong but the fragance and taste is incredible, very sweet like milk, cream, coconut, vanilla...I don´t know but it doesn´t appear natural, incredible!!
